PureAGT Season 8 Vegas Week Roster
To help jog everyone’s memory before the first Vegas episode on Tuesday, here’s the list of all the acts we saw make it through to Vegas from the audition rounds – keep in mind that we might not see all of these acts in Vegas, as there’s usually a handful of acts that either don’t come to Vegas (for whatever reason) or just aren’t shown on camera. There are 86 acts listed here – 38 of them won’t make it to the live show. I’ve done my best to try and put them into the categories I think they’ll be placed into once they reach Vegas – acts with a * next to them are acts that fit into more than one category, and I’m not positive which one they’ll end up being placed in. The “kid acts” in particular are a bit ambiguous – not sure what the age cutoff is going to be.
Also keep in mind that (if we’re following the pattern of previous seasons), these acts will be further divided into “judges favorites” (group A), “stand-by acts” (group B), and “instant decisions” (group C). The judges favorites are the acts that the judges think have the best chance of making it to the live shows, and will perform the first day of the Vegas rounds; the stand-by acts are the acts that will perform if there are any spots that remain after the judges favorites have performed; and the “instant decision” acts will either get a free pass to the live shows (without having to perform in Vegas), or will get sent home (without having to perform in Vegas).

Gosh, this just reminds me how many good acts there are this season. I went through the roster and constantly caught myself saying “I love them/her/him” and I mean constantly. It sucks to think a good chunk are going to be cut. Vegas week will be so competitive and exciting but it will be a bit heart breaking for me seeing some of these acts go home 🙁
The singers are an especially competitive group (maybe even the most competitive IMO), there are a LOT of really good ones, several with their own great original songs. I would love for Paul and Milton to make it, and I also would like to see either Tone or Lil’Bone & Mike (why not? :D) I also really like Deanna, Jimmy, and Marty, but I doubt all three of them will make it. With all of the great country singers I think Jimmy and/or Milton will get picked over Marty.
As for the classical singers I NEED to see Forte there, they were definitely a favorite of mine and the classical group that touched me the most with their voices. I do like Jonathan and Travis a lot too and I feel that Travis is almost a sure thing because of his unique voice.
The music groups are also pretty strong, I really liked 212 Green and the Gospel Choir group. I’m about 95% sure we’ll see 212 and Brandon & Savannah at the live shows.
The dancers could be interesting, I loved Ron & Liza from what I saw, and of course Kenichi was awesome. I have a feeling Kenichi has the best shot, but Bones & The Machine and Ron & Liza have decent chances too I think. I sadly don’t think Dylan will make it. I feel that those around him will just highlight his inexperience to the judges, as good as he is.
The Dance groups could also be pretty tough. Rock Dance Project looked very interesting to me and they seemed like they could be fierce competition. Catapult is really cool and good but I worry that the whole silhouette thing may wear a bit thin. I’m pretty sure Hammerstep is going to make it over The Academy, due to their unique and well-done fusion. Other than that, I’m not sure. I don’t see Tellavision or SensEtion making it.
I definitely think Aerial Ice has a great shot at making it and I’d love to see them there. I want to see more from them definitely. I’m pretty sure Duo Resonance will make it over the Kristef Brothers. I would also love to see Timber and The Chicago Boyz make it and I thinkn they have a great shot. I worry for Tristan and Kyle & Darby, not sure about the rest.
As for the danger acts, I think I would most love to see Alexanderia and David Ferman make it. Brad Byers was good too but I don’t feel much stage presence from hiim at all. That may be his downfall IMO. But I could be wrong. What Slackwire Sam does is great but I’m not sure about his chances unless he can add some kind of twist to his act.
As for the magicians, Collins is definitely a favorite of mine so I’d love to see him make it. Special Head could be really cool. Leon felt a bit rushed to me his first time so I’ll wait and see what happens. I didn’t get to see Nathan and I haven’t been able to find his act anywhere, so I have no clue on him.
Comedians could also be really competitive. I love Taylor and think he will make it. I would love to see both Angela and Jim, but I fear that they may get rid of one for the other. Probably Angela would be gone 🙁 I dunno what will happen here.
Novelty acts could be pretty interesting too. Rong Niu is DEFINITELY a huge favorite of mine (I love, love, love her :D) and I think she will make it, especially if she can add a twist to her act. Aquanauts looked really good but I’m not sure about them. Sprice would be a very interesting act and I’d like to see what else he could come up with. Kelsey & Bailey are SO adorable but I’m not sure if they’re competitive enough to make it. Megan has a pretty good shot if she can spice up her act a bit more, and I’d like to see her.
The Kids group is gonna be so heartbreaking because a few of them are definitely going home, and I hate seeing little children sad 🙁 I definitely think Anna Christine will make it, I love her and I think she can make it really far. Out of all the ballroom kiddies, I feel that D’Angelo & Amanda are the strongest and the ones that will make it (if they only pick one.) As cute as Yasha & Daniela are, I feel that they are noticeably sloppier than the other two couples, even though they have good stage presence. I’d love to see Sophia make it at least to the live shows because of obvious reasons 😛 I would also really like to see Skilyr make it.
This is definitely gonna be an interesting round, and really an interesting season. We better buckle up our seat belts lol.
Keep in mind that any acts that don’t make it through to the live shows right now still have a chance to come back as one of the wild card acts – the judges pick 12 of them to perform for 4 spots in the top 24…it’s usually after the four weeks of regular top 48 performances and the YouTube special. Usually 5 of those 12 spots are reserved for the 5 acts that didn’t win the judges’ choice in their respective live show rounds – the other 7 are a combination of other acts from the live shows and Vegas that haven’t yet qualified for the next round. So if one of your favorites doesn’t make it through to the live shows right now – there’s still hope 🙂
With the roster being cut in half for the live shows, I am sure to lose acts I like. Hope Sophia makes it to the live rounds at least
Oh, I totally forgot about that aspect! Thanks for reminding me 😀
Mel B`s website says that 55 contestants will be chosen in Vegas for the live shows. 55 is 7 more than the 48 contestants which were competing in past seasons. I`m glad more contestants will have a chance to be chosen for the live shows.
I think 55 contestants will open up chances for Marty Brown , Jonathan Allen and Branden James if they perform well in Vegas.
@Lorraine – You may be right, but I think some of the acts you mentioned night not make it through simply because they already have too many similar acts. I just don’t see them taking 3 opera acts to the live shows this season, or 3 male country singers. It may come down to variety – a weaker act may make it through while a strong one doesn’t, simply because they’re trying to maintain variety.
Where’s Sofia?!?
Never Mind Didn’t Look In Kids Catagory.
