My Thoughts on The America’s Got Talent Season 5 Top 10
I’ve already posted a poll where people can vote for the America’s Got Talent 2010 top 4. If you haven’t voted already, go and vote. The following are my thoughts on the AGT Season 5 top 10.
I must admit that after doing interviews with all of the AGT top 10, I saw them in a different light as they performed. I felt a unique connection to them and really wanted them to succeed spectacularly.
Anna and Patryk – How impressive was it to see Anna just get up after her fall and kill that routine? That’s really hard to do and she nailed it despite the fall (It’s already on YouTube). Although, in some weird way, Anna falling might have been the best thing that happened to them. She had me in tears at the end when she was fighting back the tears. The only thing I don’t get is why they would choose to do a quickstep for their performance. They call that dance the kiss of death on So You Think You Can Dance. Unfortunately, I think that’s going to be the case for Anna and Patryk too.
Christina and Ali – I think there’s little doubt that this was their best vocal performance to date. Plus, Christina knocked it out of the park in a couple places. However, I think the song choice wasn’t that great for them since I don’t think the song matches their voting base. Either way, their growth on the show has been amazing.
Fighting Gravity – Their performance tonight for me missed the wow factor. The lasers were cool and could be really cool with some more work. However, this performance was pretty disappointing. That said, America still loves them and so I’m sure we’ll be seeing them in the top 4.
Jackie Evancho – What a perfect song choice tonight and executed perfectly. I’m sure technically there were a ton of mistakes, but most of America won’t know the difference. They’ll just remember this heavenly sound coming out of such a little girl. Plus, I think Jackie has a bit of advantage having won the YouTube voting as well.
Jeremy Vanschoonhoven – Piers was correct that Jeremy is a crowd favorite. Unfortunately, I don’t think he’s going to make the top 4, but I won’t be surprised if he’s asked to go on the America’s Got Talent tour. His act is unique and has that fear factor that they would love to have on the America’s Got Talent tour. Unless they don’t want to cart around his huge set. Jeremy was perfection tonight in his performance and so you really can’t ask him to do more.
Michael Grasso – At first I thought that Michael Grasso’s trick tonight was going to be a real disappointment. I thought he’d just appear in the box and I’d think, I’ve seen that before. I think the image of him in the box in his initial package helped with that deception. So, I was excited when he wasn’t in the box, but had made the switch. I selfishly want him to make it into the top 4, because I’d love to see his magic on the tour.
Michael Grimm – I enjoyed Michael’s performance tonight. Although, it started off a bit stale for me. Him on a pedestal wasn’t really working for me. Once he got down and started moving and grooving to the song it took off for me and you could see him being a star in his genre. I’m a little tired of the grandparent storyline, but I’ll be really surprised if he’s not in the top 4.
Prince Poppycock – Speechless is the right word. I’m not sure the song choice was best though. He actually sang the Star Spangled Banner very well, but I think some people might think it’s taking something very important lightly. Plus, Yankee Doodle Dandy was awkward for me. However, his persona of Prince Poppycock still oozed through and America LOVES it. Definitely a top 4 lock.
Studio One Young Beast Society – Great performance with some great tricks. I loved how they tossed that little girl from feet to hands to who knows what across the stage. They hit it hard and it was an enjoyable act. Only problem is that compared to the over the top acts in the top 10, I think most people aren’t going to remember it.
Taylor Mathews – I really didn’t think that Taylor had much of a chance at the top 4. I still think his chances are slim, but his performance was Taylor at his best. It showed off him and his talent for making a song his own. Plus, the screaming girls in the audience make me think that he might get more votes than we first imagine.
Ok, those were my thoughts. What did you think of the America’s Got Talent 2010 top 10 performances?
I just have to say this first.
The votes so far have put Michael Grasso in fourth place? I’m honestly baffled and just sort of…. shaking my head in confusion. His trick tonight was so “magic 101.” Sorry. I can tell you exactly how it was done and I’m not even a magician. It’s just that it was that obvious. Quite frankly, it WOULD’VE been a better trick HAD he been in the box. I just don’t see him as any sort of a real magic wow, never have. He’s one that I, personally, had just automatically checked off the finalist list.
I also agree about Jeremy Vanschoonhoven. He is a fabulously fantastic act and if it were the top 5, he’d be there, but when lines have to be drawn, I, too, am afraid he’s gonna be on the other side of it. It’s too bad because he does have a superbly entrancing act. Much more engrossing that Michael Grasso, IMO. I sure hope he IS asked to go on the tour.
Tired of the grandparent’s bit or not, my sentimental favorite is, and always has been, Michael Grimm. Being unemployed for 2 1/2 years, my eyes have been opened just a little bit about how hopeless and painful and awful poverty can feel.
ALL of the contestants are unbelievably talented and they all should be able to know victory, so how does one choose? While, sure, none of the contestants are rolling in dough, I have a feeling Michael Grimm personally knows what it’s like to go hungry better than anyone else on the show. As such,
I believe that Michael Grimm is the one who truly needs the money the most, hence, he is my personal final choice.
Okay, you asked. I watched every act ex post facto, and I watched them multiple times to make sure that I wasn’t voting the wrong way (first time voting EVER in our house). I will attempt to list my opinions in some confusing non-specific order. Consider it my personal tribute to the NBC message board TOS agreement. =)
1.) Studio One Young…: Not thrilled. They kind’a started out like that strange alien dance troupe that was let go a while back, what with the tubes and all. Well, that wasn’t my first thought. My first thought was This is Spinal Tap. If you’ve seen it, you know EXACTLY what I’m on about. They mentioned having two days to get it right, and, sadly, it showed. Their previous performances were better. Mind you, I’d have preferred Reckless over them anyway, but that’s just me.
2.) Christina & Ali: I’ve never been impressed with these two in anything other than their sheer will to overcome the limits of CF, which is inspirational for many. Some people really enjoyed their performance tonight; I was not one of them. Honestly, though, I can’t think of one I did enjoy enough to really sit down and listen to. Bear in mind, I’m not that big on female singers. That’s just me; I make no excuses for my preferences.
3.) Taylor Matthews: I like him well enough. I did not like this performance, but I think he’s done well for a kid as slight as he. It must’ve been his song choice. I don’t think it was ideal for, well, anyone really. Leave it to Louis Armstrong and mess with something a little less, um, whatever. (I reserve the right to occasionally lack adequate explanation for my opinions.) To be fair, I couldn’t make it all the way through the performance without choking up. It was truly emotional for me. I know he’ll be cutting an album, and I’m just so grateful that my daughter is not even two-years-old yet. What a weight off, knowing that I need not worry about the “PLEASE!PLEASE!PLEAS!!! I’ll clean my room for a month! I’ll clean YOUR room for a month! I’ll even take the garbage out! PLEASE!PLEASE!PLEASE!!!” factor just yet.
4.) Michael Grasso: Hey, Sharron, David Copperfield may not have much on Murry, (which he does, really) but he has a MASSIVE deal on Mr. Grasso. I know it’s seditious to go on about how the show may be rigged, but to put both illusionists on in one night, heavily criticise the better man, even pointing out the breakdown of his set so that the people at home can know that his props can be heard leaving the stage, all while praising the mediocre talent of the other is STACKING. (seriously, last week should’ve been the end of Grasso with that lame bait and switch act.) Stacking works in many ways and from what I’ve seen so far in this show, one of the main ways is through the judges. People listen to the judges if they can’t make up their minds, people lean toward the people their favourite judge promotes most heavily. I’d have wee-wee’d myself had Howie or Sharron or Piers or someone in the audience jumped up and shouted (at Grasso’s previous performance), “Oh come on! She fits in the leg of that thing! They just rolled her off behind the curtain. WHAT? Now you’re running behind the same curtain! What do you think this is a birthday party for 6-year-olds? LAME!” Grasso’s act in the top ten was marginally more impressive than his past acts, and that’s really too bad, because I’d love to have seen what Murry could’ve done with it last night.
Now, Mr. Grasso, I don’t mean any disrespect, but I don’t think that you’re having had three kidney transplants should make you any more worthy than Murry. You at least have a family who loves you enough to give you a kidney. Murry’s father would likely rather see him dead than give him anything. And Murry was by far a better, vastly more talented illusionist anyway. ((deep breaths)) Okay. I’m better. Grasso, ,you made it through to the top ten. Congratulations. I sincerely hope that you don’t make it to the top four. (I’m not bitter, just annoyed.)
5.) Prince Poppycock: My dear, sweet Prince Poppycock! Oh how much I loved you in the beginning. I even looked the other way when you did Bohemian Raphsody in a supporting part, because you and I both know nobody really noticed. I was so looking forward to something better, something remarkable! I had no idea that you could turn me off in such a swift and awkward way.
Prince Poppycock, I’ve been with you from the start, but what began as a truly entertaining spectacle is now little more than a honey stick dripping with sycophantic, play-act patriotism, and has rapidly spiraled downward into something akin to a star-spangled (pseudo) drag act. Sadly, I fear, a good deal of people who once saw you as an affable dandy will now see you as someone who has little trouble exploiting patriotism and disrespecting certain national symbols to promote a cause that is currently a hot bed of rhetoric and political divisiveness. (Personally, it reminds me a little of the “Romans Go Home” bit in Life of Brian. You did it as big and as boldly as only you could, and you did it on the biggest available wall. But at what cost? =) I have nothing against someone who is passionate about what they do; and I do know you work hard for the gay rights movement, but is it wise to put your face on a three dollar bill while singing a bastardised version of Yankey Doodle Dandy during a competition at which you’re trying to win? You know how divided people are on this topic, and you now that there are not simply people on either coast voting. There are people from the centre and the south, and other places where your cause is met with great opposition. That having been said, from a business vantage, was this really the best way to win over the hearts of America? ALL of America? ENOUGH of America? I’m not a hater, Prince Poppycock; I’m merely looking at this pragmatically. I can’t help thinking you pulled this particular stunt in the wrong place at the wrong time, and indeed, you may just have shot yourself in that silly, spike-heeled foot.
Don’t get me wrong, Prince Poppycock, I do hope you advance to the top four. I just hope beyond hope that you try something a little less overdriven. Something that will soothe the tensions that no doubt exist in some places of this country’s viewer base. I’d hate to see you lose your million to Evancho, or really anyone, just because you managed to turn on the minority at the expense of the majority.
6.) Fighting Gravity: I’ve seen more impressive performances by these lads, and I think many people, such as myself, were left scratching their heads, thinking: “Seriously, that was it?” I get that there was supposed to be some story or theme to it, but I guess it seemed like a far cry from the action-loaded performance they had last week. I feel this was shadowed by that. Still, their premise is really good, and I love what they do. And I hope that they come up with something faster paced and more exciting than this bit for their top four performance. (Yes, I’m jumping the gun. I really don’t know if they’ll make it, but they’ve been popular thus far, so what the heck. I’ll throw it out there.)
7.) Anna and Patryk: I’m so sorry she fell, but I think it’ll work to her advantage in the end. People watch this show and they vote with their hearts. She got up, shrugged it off, and went on with the show. That was remarkable. She was trying so very hard not to lose it at the end, and I applaud the judges for how they handled the situation. It was a very serious situation, and her partner was not happy. But, too bad for him. Had he been the one in that frilly dress and heels, covering his eyes with a mask, he may know how it feels. Do I think they’ll progress? Anything is possible. Pity is a very strong emotion. Not to mention these two are indeed talented. I still have issues with high splits and sensual dancing between children. I’m not Howie Mandel, but I get where he’s coming from on that. I worry that what we see as two beautifully talented kids dancing like absolute professionals, some pedophile or hebephile out there sees them as fantasy fodder, and to me, that IS creepy.
8.) Jacki Evancho: Do I think she sings beautifully? She does. Do I think she will make it into the top four? She will. Do I think she is professional calibre? She isn’t. Do I think the novelty will wear off eventually? it will. Do I think she may be fully sociopathic long before that happens? I am afraid to contemplate that eventuality.
My major issue with Jackie, and more specifically, the adults responsible for her, is her pathological sycophancy. She is so scripted and fake that I fear she will grow to have no conscience in the realms of lying and manipulation. She’s a ten-year-old who “always knows what to say” because, true to any role in any opera, she’s learnt to play the part. Someone has taught her what people like to hear, but has anyone taught her that in the real world, not everyone tells you what you want to hear? Has she been taught the difference between pandering to a crowd and pandering to everyone from whom you believe you can get something? I worry for this girl on a social level. I fear that she will lose herself in this “angelic” little autonomous persona, this role she’s essentially been breastfed. When the time comes to figure out who she is and what she wants to do with her life, I fear she’ll be stranded in a dessert of confusion. I shudder to think of what her pubescent years will be like. How she will handle training in a fluctuating range, a voice that will not reach maturity instantaneously, but will require work and patience to learn as it continues growing with her. Will she end up like MJ, forever trying to recapture that youthful tone that everyone loved? Will she strive to forever be that “angel”? I seriously wish that someone would take her parents aside and have a frank and enlightening talk with them. Perhaps they don’t know how fragile the psyche of a ten-year-old girl (or boy) can be. She may end up with a serious rift between fantasy and reality before this is all over and done, and that’s IF she doesn’t already.
9.) Michael Grimm: Ah, MR. Grimm! You do NOT sound like Bruce Springsteen as some have suggested. This, you may take as the highest compliment you’ll ever receive. I can think of no two persons I’d like people comparing me to less than Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan. While both have their major accolades tucked neatly behind them, neither have as many as you have laying ahead of you. You’ve received your third-party, Ozzy Osbourne endorsement very early on, and while I disagree that Sharron should’ve been allowed to share that bit of information with the voters, I do agree that you deserve it.
Mr. Grimm, it no longer matters if you win this competition; you will sell your music in iTunes and on store shelves and people will buy it this time round. You, sir, will be coming to Comcast Arena, or possibly somewhere larger, to perform, and my husband and I will take the bus downtown to see you. We don’t even care if we never get to meet you or talk to you or shake your hand. It won’t matter. We’ll buy the tee shirt, grab a CD, and when we get back from our wonderful evening out, we’ll light a fire in the fireplace, pop in your new album of soulful love songs and snuggle, rather heatedly, on the carpet. (After the babysitter leaves and the bun is tucked away in bed, of course.) You will be a star, provided you act quickly and start marketing straight away, win or lose. You WILL be big if you don’t fool around. And my one piece of advice to you is this: Your gramma gave you shelter, she gave you a place you called home when your mother, for whatever reason (I don’t recall), wasn’t able. That’s all well and good. Do for her what she’s done for you, but do NOT let her use guilt and manipulation to make you feel that everything you’ve worked for belongs to her. Work to better your life and her’s by proxy, not the other way around.
10.) Jeremy VanSchoonhoven: All of our votes went to you, Jeremy. People may say what they will, and to he…with what they think if they don’t like it. You are our fav. We love you even though you are nowhere near as flamboyant as Prince Poppycock. We love you even though you are not as soulful as MR. Grimm. You may not dance like Haspop, neither have you had multiple kidney transplants (yet that’s forthcoming if you don’t come to your senses and stop all this daredevil foolishness) like Mr. Grasso, nor have you come from a family of losers who all take advantage of you, don’t pay their bills and…well, you might, I don’t know. But if you do, you don’t whine about it! He..! You nearly break yourself in three and you don’t whine about it. You just get back up and try breaking yourself again! It’s your abject stupidity that we love, because it’s not really stupidity, is it? Well, okay, it is. But we love it anyway! You get our blood going, our hearts pounding, and my hand clasping firmly over my toddler’s eyes just in case you really do yourself in this time! You’re a train wreck that’s two seconds from happening, and NO ONE can look away from that, no matter who they are, not matter how hard they try! I don’t think you’ll win, but I wish you would. I bet you’d be the Tony Hawks of Test Biking. I bet you could come up with a whole show, full of guys just as good as you, all trying to kill themselves, or at least give the bloated guy in the third row that heart attack he’s been working on for the past 20 years. You are going places! Just what places, I’m not sure.
Now that I’ve said my bit on every act in the top ten, I shall conclude by saying this: I still think that sycophantic, little sociopath singer will win, regardless of whether or not I want her to. Every picture on the vote page is her, and if that’s not STACKING I don’t know what is.
Yours ever-so truly,
Zarafa Amara
No clue where the smiley beside Evancho came from. Was suposed to be 8. )
Zarafa,
You did 8 and ) and that makes the smiley face like this: 8) I updated it to be 8.) and it’s all good now.
Interesting writeup and thanks for sharing your opinions. I really can’t believe that you think Murray would have been better than Grasso. Murray might have been one of the worst magicians I’ve seen on AGT. What makes you think that he’d be so much better? He hadn’t done a real wow trick yet.
I also disagree about Jackie. I think she’s just a sweet innocent girl that’s enjoying the experience. I don’t think this will damage her. Now the fame after being on the show and the decisions she’ll have to make ahead in life could cause her trouble, but I don’t think she’s scripted like you say. I think that’s who she is. Listen to her answers where she says she wants to help the animals. In other interviews I’ve heard her say she wants a horse. The question is whether she’ll be so busy because of her success on the show that she won’t get to enjoy having a horse.
It is unfortunate that Jeremy won’t be making it through. He’s been a multiple national champion doing his thing and so he’s very comfortable on the bike. So, what looks really dangerous to us isn’t quite as dangerous to him. Although, even watching the playback it’s like waiting for the crash in Nascar.
Micheal Grimm is the best singer I could listen to him all day . Micheal Im from your style of living poor and I dont have a talent except for taking care I will be married 41 years sept 13 and got married at 15 and husband 16 and straight off had 2 kids and took 6 bro.& sis of my husband with no help from any one. At one time had 17 people living with me so thats my talent. I will vote and Pray that you are the winner of it all ! I melt when you sing so Grab a life for you and grandparents GOD knows you deserve it.
Pam,
I applaud you and your very important talent. Too bad it doesn’t play well on Television since it’s such a valuable talent and something those kids and your husband should greatly appreciate. Oh wait, I guess it did play on Television on Jon and Kate Plus 8. Although, I’m not sure her talent is parenting;-)
Either way, I applaud great parenting and would definitely vote for it.
It never ceases to amaze me as I read this blog and many others how many people seem to naturally resent, ridicule, and are unaccepting of people who have truly been blessed with “God-given talent”. Jackie Evancho has been blessed like no other contestant I’ve ever heard on ANY reality TV talent show and is therefore immediately subjected to misinformed allegations of lip-synching, vocal overstrenuation, stage parent abusiveness, potential child star psychological damage, etc., etc.,…….
Regarding Miss Evancho’s Top Ten performance, even this blog states “I’m sure technically there were a ton of mistakes, but most of America won’t know the difference.” Speaking as a music professional, I can assure you that her technical performance of Andrew Lloyd Weber’s version of Pie Jesu was absolutely FLAWLESS!! If you doubt this, I recommend you compare it to other versions available on YouTube like Sarah Brightman’s or Charlotte Church (especially Miss Church’s debut performance of this song on the BIG BIG TALENT SHOW at age 11). When Church sang it at age 11, she sounded like an 11 year old singing opera. When Evancho sang it, she sounds as GOOD as any ADULT professional artist AT ONLY AGE 10!!! We will be following Miss Evancho’s career for many, many years to come and in that regard, most of the blog haters are correct…Jackie Evancho does NOT NEED to win AGT to be a “superstar” (in the words of Piers Morgan)…but she SHOULD because she is just THAT GOOD!!!
“naturally resent, ridicule, and are unaccepting of people who have truly been blessed with “God-given talent””
I hope you’re kidding. That doesn’t describe my or this blog’s attitude toward Jackie at all. I said that it was the perfect song choice and executed perfectly. That was definitely accepting and not any form of resentment or ridicule.
In fact, Jackie first came to this site 2+ years ago and so we’ve known about her for a long time.
I do have to wonder about her voice and how it will do over time. Although, singing an hour a day sounds like a reasonable way to approach it.
John, rest assured I was referring to the comments that other people have written in response to your blog, and not to your support of either AGT or Miss Evancho (other than maybe the “technical mistakes” comment). You do a great job on PAGT. Keep up the good work!
I’m not sure there is anyone who truly resents Jackie, save perhaps her brother. =) There are people who are critical of her, but that’s the way it goes with anyone in any realm of entertainment. It’s just part of being in the public eye.
I, personally, have no problem with her talent. I think she has a great deal of talent. I love hearing her sing. I still don’t think she should be singing on a professional level, not because she’s not a good singer, but because while she is good, she’s not in the realm of professionals for her style. Furthermore, at ten-years-old her voice hasn’t changed, and she’s yet to discover and train in her true voice.
I suppose the real issue I have when I see talented kids up on the stage, kids like Anna and Patryk and Jackie Evancho, is that I worry for them. After having seen so many child stars grow up with serious issues, I can’t help it. For this reason, I truly believe that there should be an age requirement for AGT talent.
All that having been said, I guess people will hear what they want to hear, see what they want to see, and read what they want to read. That is, after all, human nature. We all form opinions, and we love to share them. =)
I’m afraid I have to agree with Zarafa, John. Perhaps not so strenuously, but I, too, feel she is completely scripted and coached on what she says and, probably more importantly, how she acts, reacts and behaves on stage. She is just simply too calm, too even-keeled, too well-spoken, while at the same time, searching for those memorized words that she almost forgot to say. I think there are people in her life that are controlling her just a little too much. I think she is a brilliant singer and I wish her all the best, but I am also afraid for her as she grows up. Right now, I don’t feel she has an original thought of her own, so I only hope she is able to find herself and stay strong.
VeniceParrish and Zarafa,
I had your comments rolling around in my head tonight when her results were announced. Her non reaction to going through felt awkward. I’m not sure the explanation of it. Then, in her comments I could see how she might be more scripted than I first would have thought. It will be interesting to watch as she goes forward.
That said, when I interviewed her, it didn’t feel scripted at all. How could they script her since I was asking whatever questions I wanted? She was just as composed in my interview as she has been on stage. So, take that for what it’s worth.
” Jackie Evancho has been blessed like no other contestant I’ve ever heard on ANY reality TV talent show and is therefore immediately subjected to misinformed allegations of lip-synching, vocal overstrenuation, stage parent abusiveness, potential child star psychological damage, etc., etc.,…….”
I think everyone here agrees that Jackie is extremely talented child with an exquisitely beautiful voice. Nor do I believe anybody on this blog (I could be wrong) have accused Jackie of lip-synching.
As to “vocal overstenuation”, most of us here aren’t singers or voice teachers so we cannot really make this determination. However, many of us read or talked to voice teachers, so naturally we listen. Specifically, many voice teachers commented on the fact that Jackie’s chin was tense and shaking and mentioned that this is really bad technique that if not corrected could cause problems down the line. If you think it’s good technique or if you think it’s harmless, please tell us so. I don’t see this as “accusation” as much as an expression of genuine concern. Additionally, many a voice teacher feel that kids shouldn’t be singing Puccini and that it could hurt child’s voice. This is their genuine opinion, I don’t see it as an attack.
As to flaws in Jackie performances – I thought “Pie Gesu” was absolutely her best performance and no, I didn’t hear any flaws. I loved it. It sounded beautiful, etherial, amazing, like an angel singing (and I am not religious). But as an opera fan, I can’t say the same about “O mio babbino caro” – she is simply not ready for this aria. Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi may be a young girl, but she isn’t a 10-year old. Jackie did it very well for a 10-year old, but not even close to the level of adult professional opera. BTW – I read many young voice majors say that their teachers don’t let them sing it yet even if they can hit the notes. BTW, when I say professional opera, I mean singers like Ruth Ann Swenson, Angela Gheorghiu, Anna Netrebko, Renne Fleming, Angelica Kirshlager i.e. singers who perform on opera stage. Even young singers – e.g. Nadine Sierra at 16. I don’t mean Sarah Brightman whose attempts at arias are also well below opera standards.
Additionally, I think with all child performers but especially child singers one always worries if they don’t do too much too soon simply because of the history of many child performers. Some child performers do very well – Beverly Sills (who took a break thought between ages of 10 and 16), Anja Silja, Julie Andrews (I read some people say that her singing opera arias early hurt her voice, but not being an expert I really don’t know, she did well regardless), Deanna Durbin. Others – Charlotte Church is the most recent example – don’t do that well. So naturally people worry.
Well Micheal Grimm , tonight you sung a song and you were so great i got chills you sound just like the orignal or better .You should win this without a doult . and when you get a break PLEASE! come to louisville’ ky.so i can come and hear your sexy body in person .I know your going to be bigger than life and god knows you deserve it . be happy and i will pray that you win. GOOD LUCK!
i <3 taylor matthews 🙂
i think he has been given an amazing talent, with singing, guitar, and the ability to create that arangement out of what a wonderful world.
i have been wowed by every one of his performances, save for his vegas show.
plus, he's a cutie and i love his laugh.
what i don't understand is why people are so into jackie. i am even from the same area as her, and i don't think people would be as impressed if she was about 15 years older.
i'm not denying that she has talent. she does. but what is so appealing about it?
the other complaint i have about both her and michael grimm is that they both already have albums.
i don't think it's fair to allow them to compete. what about people like taylor, anna and patryk, and even poppycock, who are relying on agt to help make them famous?
taylormatthews<3<3<3
Alexandria,
I really like Taylor Matthews as well. I saw him on tour on Friday and he was fantastic!
Jackie is definitely talented and you’re right that she wouldn’t be as interesting if she were 15, but she’s not 15.
I don’t have a problem with people who have albums being on America’s Got Talent. You’d be amazed at how many true professionals there are on America’s Got Talent. The quick change act that they brought back on the show as a Best of YouTube acts, I’d seen them at Circus Circus in Las Vegas before I saw them on AGT. The show does want undiscovered talent, but they want talent more than anything. A show where they didn’t accept any of that stuff would be interesting, but now quite as talented.
