World’s Got Talent Being Planned by Simon Cowell
Simon Cowell isn’t my favorite person in the whole world, but it’s hard to argue with his ability to produce a TV show. Plus, he has an amazing skill as a judge on TV shows too. So, I was completely intrigued when I saw this article suggesting that Simon Cowell is planning a new TV show called “World’s Got Talent.” Sounds like the perfect spin off to his America’s Got Talent / Britain’s Got Talent shows.
Here’s some details from the article:
The show will feature acts from over 80 countries, with the winner receiving a prize of up to £1m.
A source told The Sun: “This has been Simon’s dream. It will be the biggest reality show the world’s seen. There is a huge wealth of talent out there. The best acts cross language barriers.
…
ITV and NBC are said to be involved and the show is planned to be staged at the Royal Albert Hall.
This could be really fun to watch. I can think of a lot of acts I’d like to see on this show!

Dear Mr. Cowell,
I am writing in regard to Tony & Gino Antanies, father & son singing team, 73 & 49 yrs. old. They were on the show that aired June 8, 2010 @ the NYC auditions. Since that day there were rejected by Piers & then Howie. People sitting in the audience, myself included, were shocked & appalled at the remarks made by Piers when he said to Howie “Do you really want to see ‘these guys’ win a million dollars & get their own show in Las Vegas?” The audience was cheering like crazy for this father/son team during their performance. Many people at the show thought it was a very discriminatory remark not like their Jersey accents & mannerisms. Please look at the unedited film from the actual audition and you decide if they should be made a Wild Card on the show or at least be brought back in some capacity. Thank you for your time. I believe you won’t be as prejudicial as Piers was.
John, how old is this article? Isn’t this picture of Simon with one girl friend ago?
Jeanie,
This is just a fan site for AGT. You’ll want to visit the official site to talk to Mr. Cowell. That said, I’m sure they didn’t send them home based on discrimination. Well, they do discriminate against people with less talent.
StevieCat,
Could be. I just took any picture of Simon with a pretty girl that I could find.
