America’s Got Talent 2010 Dallas Auditions

This weekend is the AGT 2010 Dallas Auditions. The Dallas auditions are happening at the Dallas Convention Center. The good news is that if you have missed it, you can still show up tomorrow. More importantly, we want you to share your story. Let everyone know what it was like to attend the America’s Got Talent 2010 Dallas auditions. Here’s one person’s experience which has already been submitted:

Did anyone try out for Dallas today? Our group got there at 4:45am and got #4 spot. yahoo we where out by 11am. We took videos, pictures and a our group got pulled a side before the auditions several times to do interviews. when we did the opening shout outs saying”welcome to Dallas or Dallas has talent” with Nick Cannon our group was asked to get in the front. We didn’t get called into another room and there wasn’t pictures being taken when we where done. One group went into a room at a time. We did have a camera in with us and they asked us a lot of questions. We are keeping hope that we do get that call back. AGT is going to be here on Sunday too so they could call us to come back tomorrow. If not we are still on TV opening pan out next to Nick Cannon who puts on his pants like the rest of us.

As always, AGT will be posting when all the callbacks for Dallas are done on the official AGT Dallas page. I know that many of my readers were at the AGT 2010 Dallas auditions, so share your experiences in the comments.

America’s Got Talent 2010 LA Auditions

The America’s Got Talent 2010 LA auditions just completed and a number of people have asked for a thread to talk about the AGT 2010 LA Auditions. As always on this site(Disclaimer: This is just a FAN site), your wish is my command (or at least something like that). So, use this thread to comment on your experience at the LA auditions. Post any pictures you might have taken before or after the show. Don’t disclose anything that you agreed not to say. Just share your experience and things that might help other people who auditioned in LA or will be auditioning for AGT 2010 in another city.

If you’re waiting for call backs, then you should keep an eye on the official AGT LA auditions page. The producers have said that they’ll update the city page with information about when they are done with auditions for that city. Also, they’ve posted the following message (which turns out is the most popular question we get on this site):

Only those acts that are moving on in the competition will be notified. Auditions are still being evalulated, no decisions have been made yet. All decisions will be made by April 2010

Yes, that means that if you don’t make it, you won’t hear anything. I also like that they told you April 2010 you can stop waiting.

Next up, America’s Got Talent 2010 heads to Dallas, TX on January 30-31. We’ll start a new thread for Dallas people to comment about the AGT 2010 Dallas auditions.

Questions for AGT Producers

For those of you who don’t know, this is just an America’s Got Talent fan site. We don’t represent America’s Got Talent, NBC, Fremantle Media or anyone with the show. We’re just passionate fans talking about Summer’s #1 show. That said, a number of AGT producers have found this site and even answered some questions in the comments before. They’ve said I could reach out to them if people have any questions.

On that note, this is going to be a thread open for questions. Please ONLY post your questions for the producers. I’ll take and compile the questions and see if we can get some answers from the AGT producers. I can’t promise they’ll respond, but I think they will. Also, I’ll filter out any questions that are likely too specific to a person like “Did I make it to the celebrity auditions?”

One of our readers posted these questions in a previous thread, so here’s some questions to get this thing started:
1. What if you make it past the producer audition, where do you (you in general) go and date would be the next audition? (the judge audition)
2. If you make it past the judges, when do you go to Vegas?
3. If you make it past Vegas, when and where do you go? What dates?
4. Are tutors provided for kids under 18 and at who’s cost?
5. Because I am a student, for planning purposes, I would need to know what dates are all the auditions and shows at each stage.

Let’s hear what questions you have for the AGT producers.

Best Magician Ever on America’s Got Talent

I’m sure that there are a lot of magicians that are preparing to audition for America’s Got Talent 2010. The show has had some decent tricks over the year. For some reason the magicians always seem to do their best trick first and then in one of the other rounds they just don’t do as good of a trick and get sent home.

Regardless, if you’re a magician interested in auditioning for America’s Got Talent, then you have to watch this illusion. It’s by far the best illusion, magic trick, whatever you want to call it that’s ever graced the America’s Got Talent stage. Check it out:

That’s a pretty high bar for magicians auditioning on America’s Got Talent 2010. I hope we get to see this high of a quality of magic again.

Past AGT Contestant Holly Hardin on American Idol

It’s always interesting to see what happens with past contestants from America’s Got Talent. So, you can imagine my surprise when America’s Got Talent Alumnus Holly Hardin appeared on American Idol 2010. However, she not only was on the show, but was dressed as a guitar. Seriously. This isn’t a joke. I haven’t found a good quality video of her time on American Idol, but here’s a small portion of Holly Hardin dressed as a guitar on American Idol 2010:

In case, those of you don’t remember Holly Hardin from America’s Got Talent 2008, check out this video of Holly:

She was so much cuter on America’s Got Talent. However, her answers make her look like such a ditz. Which I guess is probably not too far from what she is. I think American Idol tried to make her look as bad as possible so that in future episodes she’ll look better. Either way, she’ll be super entertaining on American Idol. Simon is going to destroy her.

Howie Mandel Replaces The Hoff As Judge on America’s Got Talent

What is Simon Cowell thinking? Here’s some stories floating around the internet that Howie Mandel will be replacing The Hoff as a judge on America’s Got Talent. This comes right after David Hasselhoff leaves America’s Got Talent. Check out the announcement by eOnline:

Howie Mandel just scored a new deal…with America’s Got Talent.

The 54-year-old former Deal or No Deal host will sit at the judges table with Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne for the show’s fifth season, E! News has confirmed.

I guess there’s the potential that they could be wrong. In fact, I kind of hope they are wrong. Ok, Howie might be pretty funny at the judges table. I can give him a chance, but I just don’t see how he qualifies to judge these types of acts. Plus, it will be really interesting to see how he interacts with Sharon and Piers. I guess I can see Howie as the host of the show, but not sure about him as a judge.

Either way, I don’t expect one judge to make a difference in the ratings for America’s Got Talent 2010 anyway. People watch for the talent more than the judges I think.

Opera on America’s Got Talent

We’ve had a number of VERY lively discussions in the comments of previous posts about the Opera that’s being sung on America’s Got Talent. The most famous one being winner Neal E. Boyd, but also joining the discussion is Donald Braswell and last season’s Barbara Padilla.

The discussion really centers around how good the opera singers are that sing on America’s Got Talent. Many reasonably say that if they had ‘real’ opera talent they’d be singing in other places. The discussion also usually leads to pop opera versus traditional opera.

One of those opera fans pointed out to me that there will be a documentary called “The Audition” on PBS. The movie is about the semi finals and finals of the Metropolitan Opera Council Auditions – the most prestigious professional opera competition in North America. In Northern Westchester, NY (Cablevision) it’ll be on PBS on Jan 20th at 9pm.

Seeing this type of hard core opera competition might be a way for people to become more educated on the quality of the opera singers that are trying out for places like the Met. I’ll be keeping an eye out for this. It won’t have the same entertainment value as something like America’s Got Talent I’m sure, but it will have much more educational value. I’ll be keeping an eye out for it myself.

David Hasselhoff Done As Judge on America’s Got Talent

In some of the best news I’ve gotten tonight, I’m happy to say that David Hasselhoff will no longer be a judge on America’s Got Talent. I’m sure there could be worse, but David Hasselhoff just felt far too fake for me on the show. He seemed to offer little insight as a judge. Here’s the news as it was reported by E! online:

After four seasons on America’s Got Talent, David Hasselhoff is leaving the judges’ table, his rep confirms to E! News. “I am proud that I was part of making America’s Got Talent, the No. 1 rated show for the past four summers,” Hasselhoff said in a statement.

“It’s been a rewarding experience and now I’m thrilled to be able to follow my dream to do my own TV show, which will be announced very shortly.”

I know that MANY people won’t share my happiness. Many people loved having the Hoff as a judge on America’s Got Talent. To those people I offer my condolences. However, I’ll be VERY happy to see a freshness on the judging panel of America’s Got Talent. It had really grown quite stale this past season. Far too predictable and not very entertaining.

I’d still LOVE to have Simon Cowell join as a judge. He’s absolutely BRILLIANT as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent. However, I’m quite sure that Simon can’t be a judge on America’s Got Talent because of his contract as a judge on American Idol. I’m not sure who else is available.

I’d also love to have the blonde girl from Britain’s Got Talent replace Sharon on the judges panel as well. I’m not sure her name, but she was quite good. Yes, I guess you can say I’m a big fan of the way the judges worked on Britain’s Got Talent.

Best of luck to the Hoff and we’ll be watching to see what his next TV show will be.

America’s Got Talent 2010 Audition Cities and Dates

I haven’t been updating this site too much lately, but A LOT of people have been talking about the auditions for America’s Got Talent 2010 in the comments. So, I figured I’d give my readers an update on the America’s Got Talent Auditions.
First thing you should know is that you can (and should) pre-register for the AGT 2010 Auditions.  Then, the official site will notify you when the auditions are happening and the details you’ll need for the audition (DISCLAIMER: This is not the official site.  This is just a fan site.  You can find the official AGT 2010 Audition website here.)

Ok, so as of the day of this posting, here’s the audition locations for America’s Got Talent 2010:
January 23-24, 2010
January 30-31, 2010
February 13-14, 2010
February 20-21, 2010

February 28-March 1st, 2010

Auditions are over for the following cities:

Chicago

If you can’t make it to any of those locations, then don’t worry.  You can also submit a video audition online.  In past seasons I know a number of people submitted a video online and went to the audition.  Not sure how much that really helped, but probably doesn’t hurt your chances.

That’s all for now.  You also might want to check out one person’s suggestions on what to take to the America’s Got Talent auditions.  Also, please come back and tell us your experience with the auditions and share your talent with us.  If you want to share anonymously, then drop us a note on our Contact Us page.
