America’s Got Talent Episode 7 Review
Time for my review of this week’s America’s Got Talent. I must admit that it’s hard for me to cover both America’s Got Talent and So You Think You Can Dance at the same time. However, people seem to enjoy my write ups on the show so I’ll keep doing them when I can. By the way, if you’re looking for the music from this episode of America’s Got Talent, you can find it here.
I must admit that this episode of America’s Got Talent had more talent and I liked it much better. However, there weren’t any superstars on this episode either. In fact, I think that only Tallan Noble Latz and the Platt Brothers really impressed me all that much.
Tallan Noble Latz was great to watch. He really did rock it out and deserved to be on the show. He actually already has a decent following since he was already on the Rachel Ray show and had been playing in bars and taverns around his house until they banned him from going for being so young. Either way, America’s Got Talent seems like a good avenue for him. Pretty dang impressive for a 9 year old. See what I mean:
I really liked the Platt brothers. I can’t find the video of their performance right now, but I thought they had some really cool tricks and some creative choreography. Not sure they have much more in their bag of tricks and since the video’s not on NBC.com then I think they might be done for on America’s Got Talent.
UPDATE: I found the Platt Brother’s video and it looks like NBC.com got it too:
I guess I should also mention the Spiritual Harmonizers. I’m going to hold out final judgment until I get to see more of this group. I like the mix. The solo guy was good, but not GREAT in my book. We’ll see how it goes when they do some other songs. In fact, I’ll probably search online to find some more of their songs since they’ve been doing it 10 years. They better have something online. Until then, check out the Spiritual Harmonizers.
The joke of the night for me had to be Tony Ferrante. I usually like the old guys who try to dance. However, this guy wasn’t my cup of tea. He had a few good moves, but slowed down about half way through. I admit that I don’t really want to see him again. It will be more of the same stuff I’m sure. Check it out and you’ll never have to see him again.
Oh yes, I also liked Kelli Glover quite a bit. The American Idol thing was interesting. I figured it was about time for some people to make the storyline and come over from American Idol and I imagine So You Think You Can Dance as well. Possibly America’s Best Dance Crew also. Overall Kelli did a pretty good job. I’m not sure she’s going to make the top 20, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see her in the top 40.
The Badd Girls was the funniest act of the night. I actually think one of those girls could actually be pretty good. They just had so many things wrong it was funny. This is the perfect kind of screw up act for the show in my book.
The Platt Brothers
Hulu
NBC
In my view, Tony Ferrante completely lost ALL of his entertainment value when he walked off the stage and called Piers “That B*itch”. Considering he should NEVER have been put through in the first place, his “nasty old man” attitude did not serve him well. It’s my guess that if they do what they did last year and dismiss a lot of the acts in Vegas before they even have a chance to perform at all, he will be in that group to go. My feeling is if you put that dolt through, then you really need to consider many of the other borderline acts that were not put through. I honestly think he was put through by the other judges just to irk Piers. As the saying goes, “there’s no fool like an old fool” and Mr. Ferrante is one heck of an old fool if he even thinks he has a chance to win. Well, I guess he got is “15 minutes of fame” anyway. And, Oh, the pencilled in side burns were just killer!!! :0)
P.S. I see Tallan being the next Eddie Van Halen. Wow.
Thanks Rouske2_40.
I’m not sure how I missed the one on NBC. Maybe they added it later?
Tony did show his real colors didn’t he StevieCat?
Yes, indeed he did.
I THOUGHT TONY FERRANTE WAS GREAT,,HAD NICE MOVEMENT’S AND DANCED PRETTY DARN GOOD GIVEN THE SHORT TIME ALLOWED,,AND DONT FORGET HIS AGE>>>NOT TOO MANY PEOPLE WOULD HAVE HIS “GUT”S TO COME OUT ON STAGE LIKE THAT..YAAAH FOR TONY,,FABULOUS IN MY OPINION..THOSE THAT DISAGREE DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT GOOD DANCING!!!!!
I’D ALSO LIKE TO ADD THERE ARE A LOT OF JEALOUS PEOPLE OUT THERE AND I DONT BELIEVE THE JUDGE’S DAVID AND SHARON PICKED HIM TO UPSET PIER’S..THAT’S A CROCK OF BALONEY!! THE ONLY THING TONY DID WRONG WAS CALL PIER’S A “BITCH”..I’VE SEEN CONTESTANT’S DO A LOT WORSE!!! HE’S GOOD FOR HIS AGE,,,FACE IT,,WHOEVER U ARE,,,,U MUST HAVE TWO LEFT FEET AND UR PROBABLY A HELLUVA LOT YOUNGER TOO…
TONY’S NO “MILLION DOLLAR” ACT BUT PLEEEAZE GIVE THE GUY SOME CREDIT!! 2 STANDING OVATION’S?? AND DAVID WAS RITE UP THERE WITH THE CHEERING CROWD AND SO WAS NICK CANNON!! GIMME A BREAK!! DONT WORRY ABOUT HIS “SIDE BURN’S: EVEN THAT BOTHERED YOU>>>?>BITTER,BITTER!!!!! LOL….THERE’S A LOT OF TALENT AND NON-TALENT AS WELL,,MY PICK WOULD BE KEVIN SKINNER,,I JUST LOVE HIM!! I WONDER IF U AGREE WITH THAT?????
Rose,
Are you Tony’s sister? Seriously, he wasn’t very good. Don’t get me wrong. I love when older people groove. Maybe I’m biased since someone probably 20 years older than Tony did some break dancing on Britain’s Got Talent. I loved that old man. Tony, not so much.
You are lucky that it seems like Kevin Skinner has a TON of fans.
Rose, turn off your caps lock. Nobody likes being screamed at. LOL.
Seriously though, Tony was rude and ungracious. When he was gently told he wasn’t going to go on with the show he turned sour and even told poor Nick that he’d be dead next year when Nick tried to sympathize and give him so hope. He turned out to be really nasty. That was the big turn off for me. Had he been a sweet guy, it would have made a huge difference in my having any sympathy for him. After watching his departure, I was embarrassed for him for his total lack of manners and anger. It was a continuation of the “bitch” comment in his first appearance.
