America’s Got Talent Episode 7 Review

Time for my review of this week’s America’s Got Talent. I must admit that it’s hard for me to cover both America’s Got Talent and So You Think You Can Dance at the same time. However, people seem to enjoy my write ups on the show so I’ll keep doing them when I can. By the way, if you’re looking for the music from this episode of America’s Got Talent, you can find it here.

I must admit that this episode of America’s Got Talent had more talent and I liked it much better. However, there weren’t any superstars on this episode either. In fact, I think that only Tallan Noble Latz and the Platt Brothers really impressed me all that much.

Tallan Noble Latz was great to watch. He really did rock it out and deserved to be on the show. He actually already has a decent following since he was already on the Rachel Ray show and had been playing in bars and taverns around his house until they banned him from going for being so young. Either way, America’s Got Talent seems like a good avenue for him. Pretty dang impressive for a 9 year old. See what I mean:

I really liked the Platt brothers. I can’t find the video of their performance right now, but I thought they had some really cool tricks and some creative choreography. Not sure they have much more in their bag of tricks and since the video’s not on NBC.com then I think they might be done for on America’s Got Talent.

UPDATE: I found the Platt Brother’s video and it looks like NBC.com got it too:

I guess I should also mention the Spiritual Harmonizers. I’m going to hold out final judgment until I get to see more of this group. I like the mix. The solo guy was good, but not GREAT in my book. We’ll see how it goes when they do some other songs. In fact, I’ll probably search online to find some more of their songs since they’ve been doing it 10 years. They better have something online. Until then, check out the Spiritual Harmonizers.

The joke of the night for me had to be Tony Ferrante. I usually like the old guys who try to dance. However, this guy wasn’t my cup of tea. He had a few good moves, but slowed down about half way through. I admit that I don’t really want to see him again. It will be more of the same stuff I’m sure. Check it out and you’ll never have to see him again.

Oh yes, I also liked Kelli Glover quite a bit. The American Idol thing was interesting. I figured it was about time for some people to make the storyline and come over from American Idol and I imagine So You Think You Can Dance as well. Possibly America’s Best Dance Crew also. Overall Kelli did a pretty good job. I’m not sure she’s going to make the top 20, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see her in the top 40.

The Badd Girls was the funniest act of the night. I actually think one of those girls could actually be pretty good. They just had so many things wrong it was funny. This is the perfect kind of screw up act for the show in my book.
