Where’s Eli Mattson After America’s Got Talent?
I’ve been able to follow a lot of the past talent of America’s Got Talent. Neal E. Boyd is releasing a single and touring with Paul Potts (Britain’s Got Talent). Queen Emily is in Las Vegas doing Menopause the musical. Donald Braswell has been doing shows, releasing records and even did an appearance on PBS. A little bit surprising to me is that I haven’t heard anything about what’s happened to Eli Mattson. His performance of Walking in Memphis is one of my favorites ever on America’s Got Talent. I found this video from November 25, 2008 of him performing “Walking in Memphis” at the Meyer Theatre:
Does anyone else know what’s going on with Eli Mattson? I’d love to know if he’s releasing an album, if he has any concerts. What he’s doing with his talent.
Also, I think fans of Eli Mattson and Neal E. Boyd will also really enjoy this video of Eli and Neal performing “Candle in the Wind” on July 4, 2008. I have to admit, I think that Eli Mattson actually outperforms Neal on this one. Maybe it was just the song choice. However, I loved the whole thing and it was nice to see them together.
Ok, so it’s now Thursday Nov 19th and I’ve finally decided that I DO have enough money to make the trip to Turning Stone Resort & Casino to see Eli on Saturday 11/21. I have to wait until the box office opens to see if he’s still going to be there and also I need to see if there are rooms available (since it’s a 3 hour drive for us, we’re going to stay over). The only deal breaker would be if you have to be over 18 to see the show. Don’t know if it’s in a bar type setting or not. My 11 year old son is as big of fan of Eli as I am, so that’s how we talked my husband into doing this. If my son can’t attend the show, we’re not going. If he can, then I’ll go to the show and let you know how it was.
Ok, so this stinks. I can’t go to the show because it’s for 18 and older only (due to it being run by the “burlesque dancers” I’m told) so I won’t be going afterall. Darn….so close and yet so far…..
That’s too bad StevieCat. It would have been neat to hear about your experience there.
I know, I’m really bummed out about it.
I wonder why he doesn’t do any other venues in NY? He was so well received here. EVERYONE loved him!
Except that one person who wrote awful things about him on this blog, that is, but maybe she’s not from New York! LOL
he is an inspiration eli if you ever see this you inspired me with your amazing voice and yuorpiano skills every time i see you i get tears b/c it is so amazingly beautiful.

I had the privilege of being at the Harraseeket Inn, Freeport, Maine to attend Eli Mattson’s Concert Friday July 3rd, 2009.
It’s now June 24th, 2010 Thursday. Does anyone have any idea or information on what Eli’s concert/tour schedule is like these days????
Eli, if you ever read this…… Please come back to Maine to do another concert, (or New Hampshire).
Blessings to One and ALL, now and Forever!!!!!!!
Terrylisa,
We try our best to keep up with the past people, but I haven’t seen anything about Eli lately.
Hello John,
Thank you for your kind and thoughtful reply.
Hope all is well with you. It’s summer now in Maine the
weather is warm and beautiful. I remain hopeful that we will
hear something from Eli Mattson and perhaps a concert
schedule.
Blessing to One and All, Now and Always.
Well I had the pleasure of booking Eli through his contact person listed on his website. Communications were terrible despite our settling on a date and deal. The date was confirmed with a brief email a few weeks before showtime in July 2010. Communications simply ended without a simple, “Sorry but Eli can’t make it” so people appeared for a show that never happened. For me, trying to reach someone who is responsible for booking is very difficult if not impossible. We have many “known” touring artists play our venue and nothing like this has ever happened. Contact info??
George,
Sadly, that’s very believable, but unfortunate. Seems like Eli has gone through some really rough patches. They could at least communicate what’s going on.
Just a word from someone very close to the situation. Sarah’s comments are correct regarding Eli. And there’s a serious difference between support and enabling. Privacy’s fine as far as it protects the innocent.
Again, Sarah, (or should I say “still”) a very vindictive post at his fan site. Maybe you can visit my son’s email and tell him there’s no Santa. Just cuz it’s true doesn’t mean you have to do this at a place where people like him and follow him. We wonder where he is out of a desire to see him perform, not a desire to hear such negative things about him from someone hos is “very close to the situation.” Privacy belongs to everyone, not just “the innocent.” He hasn’t robbed a bank or killed anyone. Why you felt the need to say this is a wonder to me. I hope you never fall under a situation like this and then have your so called friends or people “close to your situation” go online and post it to the world.
Dear StevieCat, Please note “George’s” comments in this column:

This was not an accident
By the way,
Many of us love Eli and hope he finds his way to success. But he’s not Santa. We just want him to come to terms with his problems.
Yes, Sarah, and those of us who hope he finds his way to success don’t go on his fan’s websites and bash him. You have your own agenda. Don’t be so surprised that your comments meet with some resistance here. The booking thing is one thing, your attack was personal. You can respond all you like with all the arguements you like, but most of us here will always support him. We love him too (obviously). You see, it’s not Personal with us. It apparently is with you. Why you feel the need to win us over is a puzzle to me.
Enough of your poison darts already.
I am not Sarah, StevieCat. Just another fan who has seen the same sad dark side.
It doesn’t matter, Sarah etc. This is a fan site and in my opinion, the comments made by you and the other Sarah are uncalled for on a site that supports him and wishes him success. Perhaps you can go share his “dark side” over on YouTube, but to feel it necessary to disappoint the fans who love and support him, it was inappropriate. We’ll never get to know him personally, and we’re not in love with him or anything, just treasuring the memory and the pleasure he brought to us that season, that’s all.
It just wasn’t necessary to share it. Share it with your friends, sure, but you could at least leave the memory of the magic that year intact for those of us who don’t know him.
Ok, I think we know how you all feel about this issue. You’ve made it clear that you don’t like it StevieCat, but it is an open forum where people can share whatever feeling they feel like sharing. You shouldn’t let this sort of information ruin your memory of what he did that year. Just enjoy Eli for what he was and hope that you get a chance to see it again.
As this thread seems to have become rather unproductive, I’m going to close the comments and we can all move on to the talent on the latest season.
