America’s Got Talent Tour
The latest fad in reality TV is to send the various performers from the reality TV shows on a performance tour. It makes complete sense when you think about all the various dance and singing reality TV shows like So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing with the Stars, American Idol and Nashville Star. Even MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew is going on tour.
Even with all the reality TV shows going on tour, I think America’s Got Talent could quite possibly be one of the best reality tv shows to go on tour. It just makes sense to have an America’s Got Talent tour. Consider the variety of talent you’d see on an America’s Got Talent tour. Many of the people are probably good enough to do their very own tour one day. Together it makes an awesome combination.
The question is whether they’ll be an America’s Got Talent tour or not. I swear I read in one of the newspapers that there was going to be an America’s Got Talent tour 2008 here in the US. Only problem is I can’t remember where the article is that talked about the AGT tour. Has anyone else heard about plans for an America’s Got Talent tour?
On a side note, it was announced that Britain’s Got Talent announced the Britain’s Got Talent tour back in April. My guess is that the America’s Got Talent tour would do similar things. Just hopefully in more cities (like the one I live in).
On 17 April 2008 it was announced there was to be a 13-date live tour, visiting the UK’s major cities during the month of June, featuring the semi-finalists, the finalists and the winner from this current series, along with a few surprises. It has been confirmed that Stephen Mulhern will be hosting the tour, which started on 6 June. None of the judging panel will be present, and there will be no live voting. The tour was later extended to 22 performances, including matinee’s, after high demand for tickets. The tour stars all 10 finalists, as well as semi-finalists Tracy Lee Collins & Anya Sparks. The tour also features a duet with Faryl Smith and Andrew Johnston.
I hope they do an america’s got talent tour. I went to this year’s American Idol tour and it was awesome! The energy was amazing, and it brought people of all ages. On my left was an elderly couple, in front of me teenagers, behind me a mom and dad with their two young kids. It was great! Plus I had awesome seats, so that’s always a help.
By the way, I fixed my blog post, I hope you can forgive the error. http://krams1120.wordpress.com/2008/09/11/full-circle/
Angela,
The last tour I went to was the Dancing with the Stars tour and like you said it was the most ironic and diverse audience I’d ever experienced at a concert. A ton of fun.
No worries on the error. I was just teasing you.
[…] course, the next question is if this is just the beginning of the America’s Got Talent tour. We’ll have to wait for an announcement about that one. Related ArticlesActs Sent Home on […]
If they have a AGT tour here in MICH and Donald would be with them I will be the first to get tickets and go to see it. Please let me know I still hope Donald will win the show!
You can find a lot of YouTube clips from the BGT tour in England – it looks like it was a fabulous show, including combined performances. Not only did Faryl Smith and Andrew Johnston perform together, but Nemesis, Signature, and George Sampson all danced on stage together. I think an AGT tour would be great. I wish they would add some top-20 performers like Sarah Lenore, Extreme Dance FX, and maybe Jonathan Burkin.
Rad,
Thanks for pointing it out. I’ll have to check on YouTube for the BGT tour. My guess is that many of my readers would like to see some of those videos.
If AGT doesn’t put together a tour, then I think they’re really missing out on a big opportunity for them and for the great AGT talent. An AGT tour just makes sense.
I would love to see a tour also, but it would be very hard to pull off. Each act has a very unique stage requirement. It’s much easier with Idol.
