Taylor Swift and Julienne Irwin from America’s Got Talent 2007

Only 2 more days until the premiere of America’s Got Talent 2009. I really can’t wait. I love that show. I’m a little upset that they put part of it at the same time as So You Think You Can Dance, but we’ll figure it all out.

Since the TV shows on tonight weren’t worth much, I was looking back at some old videos from previous seasons of America’s Got Talent. I of course had to look up the first person I ever loved on America’s Got Talent, Julienne Irwin (ok, I did really love this Harmonica Boy -The Millers in season 1). I’ve written quite a few times about Julienne Irwin if you want to see what she’s done sense the show.

Well, in my search of past Julienne Irwin videos, I remembered that Julienne was lucky enough to be able to perform with Taylor Swift on America’s Got Talent. This was well before we started seeing Taylor Swift everywhere. What an experience this must have been for Julienne. The crazy thing is that I like Julienne’s voice as much or more than Taylor Swift’s. Of course, Taylor does probably write better songs. Anyway, all of this said, I really enjoyed this look back at Julienne Irwin and Taylor Swift on America’s Got Talent singing “Teardrops on My Guitar” Taylor Swift - Taylor Swift - Teardrops on My Guitar

America’s Got Talent’s Julienne Irwin Sings Christmas

Dang, I wrote this post a few months ago and planned on posting it just before Christmas. Oh well, Christmas has past, but I still think it’s fun to see what Julienne Irwin has been up to since AGT. Kenny Rogers Christmas is pretty big.

Guessing the Surprise Guest Appearances in Las Vegas

America’s Got Talent announced that there would be special guest performers at the America’s Got Talent Las Vegas show. The question is who might those guest performers be. Here’s my projections:

Terry Fator – Just makes since. He’s right down the street. Only question is whether he’s allowed to under his contract with mirage
Bianca Ryan – She’s performing in Las Vegas already too. She’s be a crowd favorite to see again and could nearly walk over from the V theater.

I’d really enjoy seeing any of the trio Cas Haley, Julienne Irwin or Butterscotch. They’re all still performing too.

I’d also not be surprised at all if an act like the Quick Change artists or the dog routine (can’t remember his name, but he has a show in Vegas now too) as a nice little opening act or an act to give the winner of America’s Got Talent a break.

Outside of people from America’s Got Talent, how cool would it be if Elton John stopped by if Eli Mattson was the winner? What about Andrea Bocelli with Neal Boyd, Gladys Knight (who’s from Las Vegas too) with Queen Emily or Josh Groban with Donald Braswell. Any of an array of rappers could join Nuttin’ But Stringz and be quite the event.

Any other acts you’d like to see?

AGT’s Julienne Irwin – One Year Later

Since Julienne Irwin is probably my favorite ever contestant on America’s Got Talent (we’ll see if Jessica Price can dethrone her), I was definitely curious as to what Julienne Irwin was up to since leaving the show a year ago. Thankfully a local news crew did a little update on the whereabouts of Julienne Irwin:

It was interesting to know that Julienne Irwin went on tour with Kenny Rogers. Best of luck Julienne in Nashville. It’s a tough town, but I think you have the personality and incredible talent to make it. Just keep at it.

It looks like Julienne has already started recording a couple songs and music videos. I came across this one called “Tell Me Why” Lyrics & Music by David Smart & Christian Lloyd with video provided by Brad & Brian Thompson of Segami

Man alive does she have one of the most pure and excellent voices I’ve heard. I can’t wait to see what else she’s able to do in the future.

I also found this video of Julienne Irwin and Chris Richey singing God Bless the Broken Road:

I love seeing Julienne and other America’s Got Talent contestants in a more intimate setting. Not to mention, I bet that’s a memory that Chris Richey will have for his entire life.

I also happened across this video of Julienne being interviewed last year after the AGT season. How can you not like Julienne?

We’ll be watching for Julienne’s album to come out. Also, this is just the first of many posts I plan to do highlighting where the various America’s Got Talent acts are now.

My Favorite Stars from Past America’s Got Talent

Cas Haley – A unique style that mixes so many

Terry Fator – I love how the Hoff complained about it being a ventriloquist.

Of course, he then blew people out of the water with an impersonation of Kermit’s “What a Wonderful World”

The Best Contortionist ever on America’s Got Talent. Plus, I give her bigger props for hitting the bulls eye at the end of her performance.

Bianca Ryan – I’m still always amazed that that sound comes out of such a little girl. It’s really something else. Props to her for getting to perform in “V” the Ulimate Variety show.

Julienne Irwin – I’ve loved this girl since she first performed. I’m not sure what it is about her. A nice mix of raw talent with humility. I think I first grew most fond of her when they asked where she usually sang and she said her bedroom.

Taylor Ware – The only time I’ve really enjoyed Yoddeling was hearing Taylor do it. Plus, I love that she learned it by going to the library.

Butterscotch – It’s amazing that those different sounds come out of her. The first time I heard her, I thought she had a background band.

And her original performance just blows me away.

Cas Haley, Terry Fator, Julienne Irwin, Sideswipe – America’s Got Talent Semi Finals

I missed America’s Got Talent this week and I must admit that I’m a bit disappointed by it. I really love the show. The more disappointing thing is that NBC doesn’t have enough sense to stream America’s Got Talent. Not only can you get online streaming revenue, but you can build a lot of interest in a show by streaming it for people who miss episodes. The more episodes of a reality show someone sees the more addicted they become. So, get a clue NBC and stream America’s Got Talent already.

For those like myself that missed the show, here’s 5 of the performances: Cas Cas Haley, Terry Fator, Julienne Irwin, Sideswipe

Now if I just knew what the judges said. Either way, Cas Haley and Julienne Irwin made poor choices in songs. Anyone should have been able to tell them that. I still hope they make it through. They deserve it.

America’s Got Talent Julienne Irwin Semifinals – God Bless the Broken Road

I know it’s a little late, but I’m completely excited about the fact that Julienne Irwin made it to the final 10 on America’s Got Talent. I think she has a bit of an uphill battle, but Julienne has a good chance of winning America’s Got Talent.

Here’s a video of her semifinal routine singing Rascal Flatts “God Bless the Broken Road”

Julienne Irwin’s First Appearance on America’s Got Talent

Here’s a look at Julienne Irwin’s First Appearance on America’s Got Talent. She is an amazing talent for her age and for not ever having training. I loved her “In my bedroom” comment. Julienne Irwin needs to go down to Nashville and get signed with the right person.

Take a look at the video of her first appearance on America’s Got Talent:

Her humility is the highlight of that video.

Here’s another video of Julienne Irwin with the entire clip of her talking about being on America’s Got Talent

I think the comparison of Julienne to LeAnn Rimes is a good one. That’s who I thought of when I saw her.

America’s Got Talent Best Moments – Take 1

I’m not sure I agree these are the best moments of all, but I do enjoy most of them. Plus, I love seeing what other people find as the best moments from America’s Got Talent. Here’s the following: Leonid saying “go to hell”, Julienne Irwin, Grandfather & Sage, The Magic of Anthony Reed, The Glamazons

I should also say that I think Julienne Irwin better head to Nashville.
