Update: Word is that they might not be an air guitar band after all, but a real band. Funny that the show would name them the Airpocalypse Wannabes on their site then.
I got a note from a member of the air guitar group that was on the last season of America’s Got Talent: Airpocalypse. It said:
Hi All! Obviously, we think this is great… http://americasgottalentauditions.com/new/node/309 Airpocalypse Loves You! ~X
To save you having to click the link. It has a picture (seen below) on the official AGT audition website of what’s labeled “Airpocalypse Wannabes.” I guess we should have seen it coming. I think Piers (if he’s back) will have a field day ripping them in favor of the originals. Although, I have to say that the note from the original Airpocalypse shows what classy guys they are. Makes me feel good they made it as far as they did.

Today and tomorrow are the auditions for America’s Got Talent 2011. You can probably still just show up tomorrow if you’re interested in auditioning. We just got our first person who auditioned in LA share their experience at the AGT auditions. Here it is:
Hey,
We just finished out LA auditions for AGT. We went to the first audition in front of judges, were asked to wait, then were called to a second audition (played the same song) in front of the executive producers. They then took a picture of us and then were asked to wait for an interview. We gave the interview to a staff member who entered our info and then were done. We arrived at 4:00am and left at around 3:15pm. I feel really good , except for the fact that a few acts that made it to the interview stage like us were also asked to wait and were filmed for what seemed to be a TV spot. We were not. We will just have to wait and see. Thanks
Thanks for sharing. If you have other experiences, please leave them in the comments below for others to learn about the process.

Well, this weekend was the America’s Got Talent 2011 auditions in Denver, CO. I’m trying to remember if this is the first time that America’s Got Talent has been to Denver. Maybe I’m mistaken, but I don’t remember them having gone there before. I’m sure one of my readers will correct me if I’m wrong.
Either way, I want to welcome those who were part of the America’s Got Talent 2011 auditions in Denver, we want to hear from you. What was it like. What did you experience? How did the process go? How many producers of America’s Got Talent did you see when you auditioned? Let’s hear your stories about auditioning in Denver for America’s Got Talent Season 6.
Here’s the note on the official America’s Got Talent audition site about the Denver auditions:

We had 4 different fans of this site that made it to the 40 acts that were part of the America’s Got Talent Youtube Auditions. I’m really hoping that one of these acts wins the YouTube auditions and makes it on the show. I feel bad that I didn’t post about them earlier, but I was traveling and never got around to it.
According to the official AGT Youtube site, we won’t find out who wins until August 10th. They’re calling that episode the Special America’s Got Talent YouTube edition show. Sounds interesting. You can still see the 40 audition videos on the site now.
Here’s the four readers of this site that are in the top 40:
Ilze Luneau – The Basketball Family – She’s the one dribbling 5 basketballs. I’ve written about ilze before on this site. A pretty amazing talent.
Jackie – She is the one singing Panis Angelicus with a pony tail.
The Kid in Black – YT video – Valor just turned 5.
Mr. Lucky – His video is of me with my monkey puppet performing “lion sleeps tonight”. It’s not the best video in the world as they used demos and not edited versions.
Best of Luck to these 4 acts and I really hope one of you makes it to the show!

Today I came across a video of Greyson Chance. Looks like I’m a little behind since the video already has over 25 million views on YouTube. I actually found this tech blog post about Greyson Chance, that had me completely fascinated. It was a mix of my nerd side and my tv show/talent/music side. I love the way the guy describes the first time he watches this video of Greyson Chance. Here’s his description:
The video was titled “Paparazzi” and in it is a kid sitting at a grand piano on stage that looks like a school auditorium. My first thought was, ‘heh, he looks a lot like my son, Cyrus, who’s 12. On the piano he is playing the chords to the widely popular song Paparazzi. Behind him on the raised stage is a bunch of teenage girls about the same age of the piano player. They all look kind of bored in the beginning. After about 30 seconds, I am thinking, ‘heh, nice piano playing but I’ve seen better.” The girls in the background look like they are thinking the same thing.
But then at :33 seconds this boy opened his mouth. And out flowed a voice that immediately hits your heart. You can see the ripple effect across the faces of the girls. Theirs eyes widen. They turn to each other in shock and smile. You can see as he continues to flex his vocal skills they continue to be shocked and smile in wonderment. In their faces you see reflected the reactions of the whole world. A superstar is born before our very eyes. This boy has the potential to be his generation’s Elton John or Billy Joel. His name is Greyson Chance. It’s a name we will all know.
I immediately shoot an email to my friend, Guy Oseary, the superstar manager to Madonna and many more top stars. The title of the email said, “You must sign him today!!! He’s a superstar!!” Sixty seconds later my iPhone rings and it’s Guy. “I just met with him!”, Guy said. Guy was already on top of it and meeting with him and his mother all day. Meanwhile, over 40 other competing agents were trying to get to them. But when you could have Guy Oseary as your manager why would go anywhere else? The video quickly to over 4 million views in one day, after Ellen then featured it, and has now crossed 20 million views. The next day he performed on Ellen live! (Note: Guy and Greyson just announced that they have officially joined forces!)
I’ve watching this video many times. It’s playing as I write these words and tears of inspiration flow as I watch the transformation in the audience from boredom to wonderment in 30 seconds. The video captures a moment in time where this boy transforms before our eyes like a butterfly coming out of a cocoon. One minute he was an unknown somewhere in the world practicing in his living room countless hours to an audience of none and the next he is performing for the entire world.
This is the modern mythology of our planet; that anyone can pull out that magic sword and transform himself into King Arthur; The dream that anyone in the world with talent can and should be discoverable. We live in a world where true talent can be discoverable without barriers. Our generation must take it all way & democratize merit for all. In a world like this we don’t even need shows like American Idol. The collective hearts, minds and passions of humanity will discover that talent together and shine a passionate light on them.
Ok, I won’t hold you hostage any longer. Check out the video of Greyson Chance:
Of course, we’ve seen this type of storyline before. Her name was Susan Boyle. Similar storyline, but Britain’s Got Talent helped to make that storyline happen. Greyson Chance is the type of talent that America’s Got Talent is looking for. I’m sure they’ll be sorry they didn’t find him first.
Although, I must admit that one of the people I saw at the America’s Got Talent 2010 Las Vegas auditions was at least as talented as Greyson. A very different style, but I enjoyed listening to him just as much. I’m sure I’ll talk about this guy more once the AGT 2010 Las Vegas auditions actually air. It will be fun to see how he compares to the now very popular Greyson Chance.
It’s also the reason why there’s the America’s Got Talent YouTube auditions.

The following is the experience that someone shared with me about their experience at the America’s Got Talent 2010 Portland auditions.
My Portland Oregon audition! On March 1st, I auditioned for America’s Got Talent in Portland, Oregon. I left early with my mom, expecting a large crowd like the one that had showed up on the first day. When I got there, there was no line anywhere. We walked in and right through security and the place where you get your audition number and wrist band. We entered into the waiting room to find only about a forth of the place had people. Since we had filled out our paperwork earlier, we walked past the people filling theirs out and right to the people who checked them. We joked around with the people working and made them smile while they checked over our paperwork. We then went and sat down, waiting for my number to be called. The first group of people auditioning were called and they were filmed as they headed out the door of the waiting room. We waited a little longer, talking to random people and having them preform their acts for us. A few people were interviewed and they scanned the area a couple times with the camera. My number was called not long after and I joined my group. They only filmed the first group, but there was a camera outside the door just sitting there and filming the people walking by. We lined up in numerical order and then we were split in groups of ten. Once my group of ten got to the chairs outside of the audition room, we were split into groups of five. We waited for about ten minutes before we were called into the room. There was no camera. Just three girls sitting behind computers. We said our name, age, where we were from, and what we were singing. Afterward, they thanked us and told us they would call if you made it through the next round. A friend I met there told me that they asked when they would be contacted and the people told them it would be before the 16th (Because the show films on the 17th and 18th). No one was called back in, and I didn’t see anyone in any group while I was waiting be called back in. I’m not sure it’s a good thing? We got to the audition about 9 and left at 11 something. The process was fairly quick and painless, but it was a lot of fun. I made a bunch of new friends and had a blast. Portland definitely has some talented people. Let’s hope for the best!
Feel free to leave your experience if you were at the AGT 2010 portland auditions.

Ok, that was quite a stretch. From this short video, it’s a joke to compare his talent with Terry Fator’s talent. I’ve seen Terry’s live show and have his DVD and Terry is a fantastic entertainer with an absolutely incredible talent. If you have only seen Terry on America’s Got Talent, then you have no idea how good he really is. With that said, this is a great little video of the America’s Got Talent Auditions. I don’t know who this person is, but I’m glad they shared this video with us. I have no doubt that it will be taken down once the AGT producers see it and wouldn’t be surprised if Ted Harris is disqualified from the show if they see it as well. Although, I must admit that with the proliferation of cell phone cameras and video, I’m surprised that video like this hasn’t turned up sooner. Check it out before it’s gone:
Interesting look at the makings of AGT if I do say so myself.

Over the past couple years, we’ve had a lot of really interesting acts audition for America’s Got Talent. It’s always nice when those acts check in with us again and show us the progress they’ve seen with their talent. Not to mention to hear about their most recent audition on America’s Got Talent.
One of my favorite people we spotlighted before was a little girl named Casey Cattie. Well, she’s still pretty little, but I think she’s improved quite a bit since we last saw her. Check out Casey Cattie’s most recent video:
Word is that Casey did a really great job at the auditions and I think she has a reasonable chance of being on America’s Got Talent 2010. I really hope she does. It’s fun to see people who participate on the site make it on the show. You might remember that we first saw G-Force on this site before making it on America’s Got Talent. Always fun!

I got word about a really cool group that went to the America’s Got Talent auditions. Her name is Ilze Luneau and her Basketball Family. Ilze does some really neat stuff with basketballs. Check out this video to see what I mean:
Yes, she’s dribbling 6 basketballs at the same time. That’s pretty amazing. However, I think the spinning stuff is just as if not even more amazing. Go grab a basketball and try to spin it and you’ll see how much talent it takes. I think most people have tried and you know that it’s not easy to spin it for such a long time. However, she’s doing 3 basketballs. I will say that her outfit is an incredible mistake. It’s just wrong for such a pretty girl to wear whatever she’s wearing.
Here’s another video of Ilze Luneau:
It’s talent like this that makes America’s Got Talent really really interesting. I’m very happy to see that Ilze auditioned and I can’t wait to see her on America’s Got Talent.
