Honestly, did anyone really like the performance of Susan Boyle on America’s Got Talent? Sure, I get how we fell in love with Susan Boyle when she sang the first time. It was shocking that her voice was coming out of that image and that story. Her idiosyncrasies were interesting and made us laugh. They even made her endearing. However, her performance on America’s Got Talent last night was boring. She’s not a bad singer, but she’d never have been invited to the AGT stage if she hadn’t gotten so big on the stage before.

Maybe I’m wrong and there are a ton of Susan Boyle fans out there that loved her performance. If there are, more power to you. For me personally, it was terrible. I literally turned the channel. In case you missed it, you can see the video below. Am I way off base?

For some reason, lately I’ve been staying up late and catching a bit of the late night talk shows. I must admit that I’m more of a Dave fan than a Jay, but I generally enjoy both of them. The stars they have matter more than the host, but I digress.

For some reason, last night I was watching Jay and just happened to enjoy Jackie Evancho’s performance on the Tonight Show. Pretty impressive as always. The song was perfect for her. She still waves her arms in funny ways which I guess is a bit endearing since she’s still being herself. It’s part of who she is now.

The most amazing thing was when Jay said that Jackie Evancho’s first album “O Holy Night” had already sold over 1 million copies. Props to Jackie Evancho. No wonder she could turn down the chance to perform at Carnegie Hall. She’ll have more opportunities to do that in the future.

You might remember that we posted about Jackie Evancho choosing NOT to sing at Carnegie Hall with Tim Janis. Well, I just found out today that America’s Got Talent will still have two representatives from the show at Carnegie Hall to perform on the Tim Janis Christmas Special on December 2nd. It’s not Jackie, but Donald Braswell and Eli Mattson.

Congrats Donald and Eli and best of luck!

I’m sure many of you remember Jessica Price (one of my favorite acts ever on America’s Got Talent). Well, I guess she’s singing in a band (I think I posted some videos of her band before) and they have a chance to open for Kiss in Michigan. Here’s the email I got about the opportunity:

Hi. Remember Jessica Price? Well her band is in a competition to open for KISS in Detroit, Michigan. However, they need some more votes. Well, I have to say from a Nuttin’ But Stringz fan perspective, their participation on Dancing with the Stars was a little disappointing. They essentially were just background music for all the other dancers. Still a big step for Nuttin’ But Stringz to be on DWTS, but I would have liked to see more of their performance. I guess my consolation is that many of the dancers on it were from one of my other favorite shows, So You Think You Can Dance. The merging of the 3 main shows I blog about.

I was really excited last night when I was watching Dancing with the Stars to hear that America’s Got Talent alumnus Nuttin’ But Stringz will be performing as special guests. That’s awesome to see that Nuttin’ But Stringz is still alive and well. They really deserve their own show. I absolutely love what they do with a violin that you just don’t really see.
