PureAGT Season 8 – POLL: Who Will Howard & Howie Pick for Their Wild Card?
So we know Heidi & Mel’s wildcard picks (Duo Resonance & Tone the Chiefrocca), and will be seeing them perform next week. But the question on everyone’s lips seems to be “Who will Howard & Howie pick as their wild card?”
I think it’s worth noting that both Mel & Heidi’s picks were acts that lost in the judges’ choice of their respective rounds – therefore, I think there’s a good chance that Howard & Howie’s picks might also be acts that lost the judges’ choice. However, I think there’s also a few acts that the judges were hoping would make it further and didn’t – so their picks may be acts that didn’t even make it as far as the judges’ choice. Hell, they could feasibly even pick acts that didn’t make it past Vegas…and Howie in particular is pretty unpredictable, so he very well may chose something completely out of left field.
I’ve picked a handful of acts that I think stand the best chance of getting picked for the wildcard, as well as allowing write-ins. Which do you think will get picked? Vote for the three you think are the most likely.
Personally, I would be surprised if Howard picked any act other than the American Hit Men – he had be gunning hard to get a “great rock band” in the finals, and I think he really wanted the Hit Men to be that band. If he doesn’t pick them, for whatever reason (maybe too many music acts?), I could see him maybe picking Alexanderia…he seemed to think she should have made it further than she did, plus we don’t really have any danger acts in the semifinals. Howie is a bit more unpredictable – I could see him doing something totally dumb and bringing back Aaralyn & Izzy (ugh), just to be weird; but then again, I think he could possibly bring back Aerial Ice or Alex Magala, to try and get some more unique acts into the finals, since he seems to be the judge that is the most vocal about there being too many singers in the competition this year.
So how did you guys vote? And who do you hope to see winning these wild card spots?
I really think Howard is going to pick American Hit men, for the same reasons you listed.
However, I’d love it if either Howard or Howie picked Alexandr. I really enjoyed his acts.
Mitsi is talented but unspectacular. They aren’t going to bring down the house with a show stopping event, but they’re amazing at what they do. I don’t want Hitmen, but Howard does, so that was my second. I chose Milton Patton as a left field candidate for my final selection. If you’re bringing back anybody who wasn’t in a judges choice, Milton seems like a solid bet.
i voted for deanna because the judges praised her and i thought it was a major shock when she went home but i don’t know if either howard or howie will pick her. i think howie will defintely bring back alexandr magala because he was so shocked when he went home. with howard it comes down to 3 choices: alexanderia because howard was shocked when she went, brandon and savvanh because howard loved thier last performance while with the hitmen he was very disapointed, and finally leon and romy because howard loves this guy even though he buzzed him. i don’t think aerial ice will be brought back because the judges weren’t too crazy about thier performance and for me it’s all over the place. everyone else has no chance of making it through. and they should’ve never axed the wild card show!!!
I am definitely thinking Howard will pick American Hit Men, which is good since I would love to see them keep going. Howie could go every which way ’til Sunday. Though this could possibly be a long shot, I am still hoping and praying they bring back Paul Thomas Mitchell, because even if there are too many singers, I STILL think letting that guy go was a HUGE mistake. But something tells me Howie won’t be interested in another singer. I could easily see Alexandr or Aerial Ice, and I’d be happy with either (though I am leaning towards Alexandr :D). I just really hope it’s not Aaralyn & Izzy…I will find it hard to take Howie seriously ever again…and I find that hard enough sometimes lol.
I agree, Will – I don’t see Howie bringing back another singer, no matter how much they may deserve it…he seems a little upset that so many other unique acts have gotten sent home in favor of yet another singer. I really think Howie’s pick is going to come from the danger category – most likely Alexandr or Alexanderia.
And just a snapshot of some of the write-ins we’re getting: 3% want to see Milton Patton come back, and 1.35% each want to see Ruby & Jonas, Kid the Wiz, Ciana Pelekai, David Ferman, Sam Johnson, & Jim Meskimen come back. I know before I said that maybe Milton would be back for the wild card, but I think at this point, they probably won’t even entertain the notion, just because they already have so many singers (and 2 country ones already). Ditto for Ciana. I think Kid the Wiz blew it both in Vegas and in the quarterfinals, so he’s probably a lost cause as well. The only one out of that last that I could see having a slim chance of coming back is David – they seem to really like his stunts, but just have a problem with his delivery.
