PureAGT Season 8 – Roster for 3rd Live Show Airing August 6
So here’s the list of acts that Nick announced for next week’s live show:
Chicago Boyz (acrobatic group)
Deanna Dellacioppa (singer)
Mitsi Dancing School (Chinese folk dance group)
Brandon & Savannah (band)
Aerosphere (aerial balloon act)
Jim Meskimen (comedic impressionist)
Kenichi Ebina (dancer)
Kelsey & Bailey (dog trick act)
American Military Spouses Choir (choir)
Leon Etienne & Romy Low (illusionist)
Dave “The Cobra Kid” Weathers (snake handler)
Jonathan Allen (opera singer)
First impressions? The heavy hitters in this group are Kenichi, the Chicago Boyz, and Jim Meskimen – those are the 3 that I would guess have the best chance of making it through. I’m thinking the American Military Spouses Choir is probably going to be toast, as is Mitsi Dancing School and possibly Aerosphere. I really don’t think we need yet ANOTHER opera act in the semifinals, so I guess I’m kind of hoping that Jonathan Allen doesn’t have the juice to make it through.
What do you guys think?
I agree that Chicago Boyz, Jim Meskimen, and Kenichi are the strongest 3 out of this group and the most likely to go through. Deanna is a good singer, but I just don’t know if she’s got enough control over her voice, and honestly she was irking me a bit in Vegas. I don’t know how America will react to her.
I’m gonna admit, I love Kelsey & Bailey 😀 How competitive are they, though? Not very. Not sure how things will go for them either. I like Jonathan and do prefer him over Branden a little, but I am not sure if he’ll make it. The Spouses Choir is probably in trouble, though I do like them. I liked Brandon & Savannah the first time around, maybe I’ll like them again.
Really the only two to really excite me are Kenichi and Chicago Boyz. Not sure what to expect from the rest.
The three acts you mentioned are really the only ones I’m excited to see. I wonder how much of the American public actually wants to see some of those acts again?
I think that if Deanna doesn’t get control of her emotions and control her voice, she is toast. Will, she was irking me too in Vegas. I don’t see why she couldn’t have just rolled with the technical difficulties she was experiencing. Others have been able to do it. And wouldn’t the judges have been more impressed by it?
Kenichi, Chicago Boyz, jim Meskimen. Jonathan Allen or American Military Spouses Choir for 4th semi-final spot.
Singing is what sets AGT apart from other shows like The Voice and Idol. They already have 2 singers from each of the first 2 quarters moving on. It’s too much. I love this show for the variety. If I wanted to see 6 singers duel I’d be watching different shows.
Man. That was a really good episode.
The chants U.S.A. began after the American Military Spouses Choir for a reason. These women are not singing just because they love to but to show how much the military does for the entire U.S. Each day our men and women in the military are without thier families and take the chances of being harmed. In other words the reason they will go through is not because they are a choir but because people always ask themselves this “where would we be without the military?”, no place good I am sure.
I don’t think anyone here is debating the usefulness of the military, kourtney…so I’m not sure your soapbox speech on how great they are (and they are!) was necessary. What I personally am debating is whether or not the American Military Spouses Choir is strong enough talent-wise to advance to the next round. I personally thought they were rather flat and off-key last night.
I think the choir was good, but I do NOT want them advancing via the sob story. That’s vintage Idol right there. “I lost my parents because I’m gay”. “Oh my god he’s been through so much we have to vote for him” is the very last thing anybody wants. There are a ton of good acts from last night. Your three heavyweights hit hard, Johnathan and Deanna were both really really good, and (although I realize this isn’t popular opinion) I loved what Mitsi did last night. Should be a fun results show.
I actually agree with you that Mitsi was good, Matt, but I didn’t think AMSC was as good as the judges were saying. I talk about it at-length in the power rankings, which I just posted.
