Jackie Evancho Not Performing with Tim Janis at Carnegie Hall in December
Word on the street was that Jackie Evancho was to perform at the famous Carnegie Hall in New York City on Dec. 2nd. In fact it would break a record:
Pittsburgh area fifth-grader Jackie Evancho is scheduled to perform at Carnegie Hall in NYC on Dec 2 , and will be the youngest female vocal soloist ever to have performed at Carnegie Hall. –source
However, I just got work via Facebook that Jackie Evancho won’t be performing at Carnegie Hall in December. Here’s the note from Jackie’s mother:
Just wanted to give advanced notice to all jackie fans that she will not be performing with Tim Janis at Carnegie Hall this December. This was not an easy decision and we wish that things could have been different.
Can you imagine making these tough decisions? Seems like they’re doing their best to take care of Jackie since she is so young. I certainly applaud these efforts. Hard to imagine passing up Carnegie Hall though. That’s pretty amazing.
This isn’t exactly news. We knew about this over a month ago.
JackieFan,
Well then, why didn’t you post about it before? It’s all good though. I’m just happy to get the word out to more people that might not have heard.
I live in st louis and bought tickets to see this show…..$50 a pop!!! that is no loose change. I really love christina & ali, but couldnt wait to see Jackie evanco. then when entering the doors i see a note posted…jackie evanco will not be performing tonight. very very very very disappointed. this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for this little girl….come on!
i might not have bought the ticket if i knew she wasnt going to be there.
I have never seen more fraud and publicity stunts around a child. The cancellation of Carnegie Hall was already predicted when they first announced it.Some were stating that her voice was not up to Carnegie standards, while others were claiming her voice was being artificially engineered and over amplified. Conclusion they would not allow this at Carnegie because she would also have to sing with a live orchestra. OOPs. Very disgraceful that they already reported her to the book of world records prematurely. Her family & handlers only care to trick the public into buying CD.
Wow what a bad deal I almost spent $198 to see Jackie at Carnage as my daughter loves to sing and I thought it would be a good experience. I found your blog here and you can not imagine the let down that happened. I glad I did not get the tickets letalone the cost of travel from TX flight for 4 hotel tickets. Thanks for the heads up…..
John,
I’m really glad to hear that you found this post useful. That would suck to go and then her not be there.
@D. Eldsworth: “Very disgraceful that they already reported her to the book of world records prematurely.”
What book of world records? If you talk about the one on the internet (worldamazingrecords.com), then it’s a joke as they don’t seem to understand what they are judging or bother to verify their facts.
The only reputable book of world records is Guinness and it tells a completely different story:

Notice that the “youngest opera singer” listed in Guinness performed a leading role in a live opera production, not just sang one aria and a few songs.
