Final America’s Got Talent 2010 Voting!
We’re finally here. This is the final America’s Got Talent 2010 voting. Now that we’ve seen the top 4 perform, it’s time to vote for who you think will win America’s Got Talent season 5. I’m not sure the performance tonight will make that much difference, but I guess we’ll see. So, start voting for your favorite.
I have to admit, as much as I adore Prince Poppycock, he didn’t go for the full effect tonight. I love what he did, but I don’t believe it will be enough to win over the “OMG she’s so CUUUUTE” crowd.
I still voted for Prince Poppycock. As did my family. 🙂
The finals were kind of a disappointment last night.
Prince Poppycock – He peaked two weeks too early. If he had waited on his semifinals performance until tonight, he would have it locked up. That is the performance of the whole competition this season. Still, I think he’s got a good shot.
Michael Grimm – Not a bad song choice. I don’t think he did enough to win, though.
Jackie Evancho – I have not been able to watch any of her songs completely. I don’t know if I’ve even made it halfway through any of them. Plus, she automatically gets downgraded for being solely a singer (personal preference there), and the way she came in to this competition has created a big resentment in my mind. I don’t want her to win, but I have this bad feeling she will, continuing the streak of winners who are singers. That might be enough to stop me from watching the show again.
Fighting Gravity – In a night of underwhelming performances, they did enough to get back to the top. Yes, they made a mistake, but if you look at their performances, none of them have been technically perfect. They make mistakes, though they usually are smaller. It will be wrong if they don’t win.
I couldn’t believe the deplorable and unethical way Piers acted toward Poppycock. Piers acted like he knew everything about everything. If he had something wrong with Poppycock he could have had the decency to wait until he finished his song. After the way he acted it was downhill for the show. He really did spoil it. He acted liked a strutting peacock. He really did a good job of ruining the show. I hope he is happy. He’s some kind of judge. Lucky, he in a class by himself!!!
I thought Poppycock was great and he got my vote.
Hi everyone,
I was struck dumb when Piers pushed the button on Prince Poppycock. I could not speak. At this point in the competition is was not his place to say anything. He wants the little girl to win so bad I think he was afraid if he did not ruin prince Poppycock’s performance she would not have had a chance of winning. what a shame he felt it necessary to ruin a fine performer like poppycock in order to push for another competitor to win. I voted for prince poppycock because I too am one of those who do not like the way the little girl was brought into the competiton. It isn’t that she is not talented but rather a low blow to other who auditioned. It completely changed the out come for Miss RIDLEY who deserved to be in the top

Americas Got Talent needs to change their format. After the top ten are chosen “by the public” the judges should ONLY be there to comment NOT buzz or choose.
Piers’ performance last night is going to save me a lot of time. I WON’T bother to ever tune in to watch CNN as he replaces (what a joke) Larry King. Not even his wife supports him. What a horses backside. Hooray for Sharon and Howie – actual members of the human race.
What you guys might not realize is that this might have been the best thing Piers could have done for Poppycock. It will encourage his passionate fans to vote more than they would have previously.
However, I disagree that Piers did it because he wanted the little girl to win. I don’t think he really cares. Prince Poppycock’s performance was a disappointment and it would have been out of character if Piers hadn’t buzzed him.
That said, I’m fine with your idea Sue that they take the buzzer away from the judges at some point in the competition. I especially disliked the 3 buzzers when they cut short someone’s 2 minutes of fame. It’s not really so long that they need to stop them when they get 3 buzzers. That’s lame.
I do agree with that, buzzing Poppycock may end up helping him. It’s the same with Fighting Gravity. A little controversy can ignite the fans.
Also, here’s a question I would like to hear answered by fans: What was the best performance of the year? I’m not asking who should win the competition, I’m just asking which single performance was the best. Like I said above, I believe Prince Poppycock’s rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody was the best performance this year. What do other people think?
Jason,
Good question. I’ll have to think about that. I might have to do a post asking the same question too.
Man, that’s a hard question to answer I think.
It’s clear that Piers wants the girl to win. I think when Poppycock did opera Piers felt he had no choice but to buzz him or else he and Evancho could split the vote allowing someone else to win.
My vote goes for Michael Grimm. I think there will be a split vote, I don’t think Fighting Gravity was that good (several mistakes- including the guy in black coming on screen during the performance) and I think Evancho’s very Catholic song choice will turn off many voters of other faiths or denominations (along with Atheists).
@Myron – I don’t think choosing “Catholic” songs had anything to do with it. Music is music and is appreciated regardless of one’s religious beliefs or the lack or them. A large part of world music heritage has some connection to religion, and no music lover denies music based on whether or not it’s performed in churches. Only extremists would think about any music selections in these terms.
This is especially true about Bach-Gounod “Ave Maria” which is really a combination of Gounod melody superimposed on a prelude by Bach. This music is an important part of world’s classical music heritage.
Now, choosing 3 of the same selections that Barbara Padilla sang last year may have hurt her. One could very easily compare. I think Jackie should’ve left “Pie Gesu” which was by far her best performance for the end.
I think several things hurt her. First of all, she wasn’t as “flawless” as people think. I don’t want to criticize a child here for flaws that are due to her young age, her small lungs, especially as she sang pieces that are considerably more difficult than usual pop songs. But one flaw that does get noticed is insufficient expression. Without expression, music becomes “beautiful noise”, and people get bored with it. If she had chosen pieces she could relate to and really expressed them – with her face, her hands, her body and her voice, there’d be fewer “boring” complaints.
What the hell were people thinking? Michael Grimm over jackie Evancho?
