America’s Got Talent 5: The Wildcard Show

The upcoming episode is the WildCard show. Meaning anyone that the judges/producers believe deserve a second chance will get that second chance. In the matter of this season (as far as I know) I mean anyone…

There are a handful of acts that were rejected in Vegas who will get their chance to shine in Hollywood. The majority of the acts are those that had their chance in Hollywood, but in the end were not voted through for one reason or another.

One thing of note is that the only “singer” in the group is the youth rapper. Otherwise most everyone else is a non-vocalist, which is probably a good thing because there are already nine acts that sing that got through.

So providing that there are already 20 semi-finalists, if they choose another four from this crew then that would make it 24 semi-finalists total. That would be 24 acts out of 64 acts that performed in Hollywood as semi-finalists.

So out of all the wild-card acts (there’s no limit to the number of acts you’re looking foward to seeing on stage)…

I am so glad to see the young man who flys the kite coming back for another chance. He was great and his disability should not be held against him. If anything he should be congradulated for having the balls to audition in the first place. I auditioned and know first hand just how difficult it is to stand on that x in the big room with all eyes on you and perform. I thought I was going to die right there. He is very brave.

Actually, 24 of 64 (38%) is lower than previous years for the semifinals. Last year, it was 20 of 48 (42%), and the year before was 20 of 40 (50%).

I thought all of the acts that finished fourth or fifth but weren’t voted through by the judges would make it (similar to season 1), but I guess that didn’t happen. Only 2 of the 5 are in the lineup. At least it’s a good lineup, not much to argue with.

Huh! Carlos Aponte was not even in the wild card. This show really really sucks!

you are bringing in people only from the original on-stage applicants, this is totally unfair to the YouTube applicants whose only onstage appearance was following a youtub submission. This is completely unfair and prejudiced to tnem.

Pup was a clear favorite, both during the event (Howie and the crowds clapping during the performance and standing ovation. Even the anti-animal Piers had positive things to say.

All in alll, i think iy would be a major mistale to exclued the youtube group. my vote goes with Pup and Cam

Carlos Aponte should have been a wildcard.

“Carlos Aponte was not even in the wild card. ”

Agree. I think they really don’t want all-singers final.

They already have 4 singers which are near-guaranteed to be in top 5 – Jackie, Prince Poppycock (like him or not, he has a huge following and seems tailor-made for Vegas), Alice Tun Ridley and Michael Grimm, two of which are in “classical” category. If you add Carlos to the mix, you’d get 3 “classical” singers guaranteed in the final and a very high chance of all-singers final.

Also, Carlos song choice in Las Vegas was unfortunate. I am not sure if it was entirely his choice, though, actually I am extremely suspicious it wasn’t.

There may also be something we don’t know….
