Tonight’s show was pretty interesting to say the least. I don’t know about you guys, but it flew by. The variety of the acts was interesting and I really didn’t know what I was going to see next. It was just good entertainment. Well, apart from one act….which will remain nameless since I don’t necessarily want to influence your voting.

Now it’s time to vote for America’s Got Talent 2010 semifinalists. You can vote for 4 acts total that you think will make it through to the next round.

I thought most of the acts were good but none of them blew me away. The three best were HasPop, Studio One, and Debra, though I didn’t like Debra’s song choice and HasPop and Studio One aren’t really my cup of tea.

I actually really liked Pierre the harmonica player- way more than I thought I would.

I didn’t vote in the poll because I don’t want any spoilers of who the most popular acts are, but I think HasPop, Studio One, and Debra will get through along with either CJ, the bellydancers, or the biker guy. The latter three were all good as well but I’m holding out hope that Pierre or The Strange Familiar will get through. I agreed with the judges that Strange Familiar were good not great, but the more I heard them the more I liked them- I just think they “picked” the wrong song (if they did actually pick it). Plus “Courage Is”, the song that was in the Secret Life of the American Teenager previews, is one of my favorite songs. I don’t normally vote, but I picked up the phone for them last night.

Also is anyone else noticing how the acts that got right through to the live shows without auditioning again in Vegas have mostly been bad? Future Funk was okay and HasPop will probably get through, but all the other acts seemed to fall flat. Perhaps they put everything into their audition and then ran out of material for the live shows.

Please don’t tell me our biker friend is going to make it. I don’t deny his talent has skill, but I just feel fear watching his performance, I’m not necessarily thrilled when seeing it. A lot of bike prep and that’s it… I feel like it might take a slot from someone like Kaya & Sadie, who are incredible and might really go far…

      Melissa,
I’ve definitely thought that some of the automatic Hollywood qualifiers were one trick ponies and so they put them through to Hollywood since America would be bored with seeing them multiple times.

      Jesse,
What’s wrong with a little fear in watching someone perform? That’s the reason to vote him through. I like him a lot. There’s actually a lot of bikers like him that do amazing stuff with bikes. Search for “bike rock hopping” or something like that on YouTube and you’ll see what I mean. It’s an amazing talent.

So help me, I will pitch a flaming fit if CJ gets voted through. Rapping is absolutely not a talent. Anyone can do that if they’re not worried about looking like an idiot.

Can I get a video of you pitching a flaming fit? I’d watch that!

I think this is going to be the closest voting the show has ever seen. Usually it’s pretty clear, but tonight is going to be full of suspense. CJ might just make it. Plus, he writes the raps and dances too. The boy’s got talent. However, I like him most for what he says and does when he’s not performing.

So you like him for being a poser, then?

Anyway, America mercifully voted correctly, though I would have preferred Harmonica Pierre over Debra Romer.

    7. # John commented on August 3rd, 2010:

Yep, that was one entertaining poser.

HOLY COW, POPPYCOCK! You’ve shown them all!!!
I was torn between voting for my new heart throb Mike Grimm, and those irresistibly ADORABLE Future funk, but then this precious Prince blew my petticoat off!
Either way, all above mentioned will enjoy the most illustrious of careers and continue to awe us with their amazing gifts!
