I can’t say with 100% certainty that your chances of being on America’s Got Talent 2010 are over, but if you go over to the official AGT website they have posted the following message:

Special Announcement Coming Soon
The auditions are officially over for season 5. But there is going to be one more chance to appear on the show and vie for the 1 million dollar prize. We’ll be announcing the details about this amazing opportunity soon.

The comment that “auditions are officially over for season 5″ seems like those of you who were waiting can feel a little bit of closure for this season. I’m sure that will come as a great disappointment for many, but hopefully knowing will at least provide some relief as well. I have really appreciated hearing hundreds of your stories in the comments on various posts on this site. It’s really quite amazing that talent that has visited this site and the sharing that has occurred.

Of course, the show couldn’t give you complete closure since the notice above also talks about a “Special Announcement Coming Soon” and one more chance to appear on the show. I wonder what they have up their sleeve. I’m guessing some sort of video submission online judging thing with the winner getting a chance to be on the show. Kind of like the MySpace auditions that they’ve done in previous seasons. What do you think?

I’m going to reach out to some of my contacts related to AGT to see what I can find out and see if Pure America’s Got Talent, the best AGT fan site on the web (maybe the only one too), can participate in the special announcement in some way.

I dont think that the posting on the AGT site stating auditions are officially over means that call bacls are officially over. The video submission deadline was 4/15/10, so they should still be reviewing those submissions, and other video submissions for a possible call back. I think the message means the time period for submitting auditions (videos) is over.
I have been called twice on my video submissio. Once stating I was on the producers reel and once stating that we were chosen on the list the producers were interested in and asking availability for Orlando. We have not been called back, so I am quicly loosing hope.

      ron,
Auditions are mostly over for this season. The official site has one more “special” opportunity which they haven’t announced yet. So, watch for that and next year they start auditions usually in January time frame, but you can pre-register in like August.

Of course, this assumes there will be another season of America’s Got Talent;-) If it does as well as before, then we’re good.

I’ve been reading these blogs for some time now – auditioned in L.A. on Jan. 23. I was called in to audition for the producers and made a spectacle of myself(I was hoping they would think it was part of the act – I’m a metal singer who’s in my late forties.) I was very disappointed but not surprised that I wasn’t called. However, I was pleased and proud to be selected out of such a large group to see the producers(I was the only singer in my group of 10 to be pulled back in for a second audition.) To all of you who had the guts to audition, kudos and better luck next year! Maybe it’s not too late for a select few for season 5, but if not, we have ALL accomplished a lot!

    12. # MTR commented on April 25th, 2010:

I did not get a call but, just being involved was a thrill for my wife and I and to be sent to the producers room gave me the boost I needed to have confidence in my singing ability that I did a senior idol in my home town and they loved me and I am going to do my Elvis inpersonation for the senior center in june so all I can say is thank you America’s got talent! I may see you next year.
