That’s cool they have some full form HBO stuff. However, Howie is still a freak. Man alive. It’s all good. The talent is better than the judges anyway.

I skipped the intro and around 7 minutes in it gets funny. I stopped watching around 15 minutes in because I had something to do, besides, it’s the entire HBO special which was almost an hour and while he was a maniac, I couldn’t watch for an hour. Give it a look when you have a moment.

I YouTube’d some of Howie’s old routines just to remember him better because he was HUGE when I was in my 20’s, and he wasn’t “dry” humor, he was silly humor. Humor that doesn’t quite come forward into our time now, but he was really funny for the decade in which he was well known. But, he seems more mature now as well, so I’m sure his sense of humor has moved forward with time also. I think he just may work out.

Yes, I remember him being a comedian. So, that’s why I said he could be funny at the table. However, he has kind of a dry humor so it will be interesting alongside the other 2 judges.

Jeff Foxworthy (5th Grader host) would have been hilarious as a judge. I’m not sure I trust his ability to judge the acts, but we’d never be without something funny to talk about if he was one of the judges.

The first time I read this post my impression was: What qualifications does a host of a game show has that he can judge talent. But if he had been a stand up comedian, he shall be entertaining which is as we all know “is what the show is about”. Though as a comedian on a panel, I think the host of “Are you smarter than a 5th grader” would’ve been funnier.

Still, I’d have preferred to have more judges with distinct qualifications with expertise in different genres. Kind of SYTYCD judges.

This is not a rumor, it was a formal announcement. Howie IS the new judge. I was lamenting about it to my coworker and she said she saw him in Vegas once and loved his act so much that she catches his show every single time she goes to Vegas. I forgot about his stand up act, that’s what he was famous for before he did that game show. I think that qualifies him as a judge more so than Piers (a journalist) and Sharon (a musician’s wife and manager. It’s not like she manages more acts than just Ozzie). I think he’d have the perspective for the contestants from a performer’s point of view, so he may be a decent contributor to the show as well as add some much needed humor.

I was totally against the choice yesterday, but after talking to my friend about him, I’ve changed my mind. Oh what a difference a day makes.
