It's an interesting question. There's no doubt that producers have their favorite storylines. Plus, there's no doubt that the chicken catcher that can sing is a great storyline. I think it's pretty fair to say that all that exposure gives him a little advantage over the other people. I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say that the producers manipulate it so that one person wins. However, they are trying to get ratings and so producing a great story is certainly part of what they do.

The only other thing to consider is that Simon Cowell wants to be the agent for the best acts. So, there's something to say about the show promoting acts that he could later promote as part of his company. I haven't heard someone say this happens, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happens.

hello John,
A question for you. I remember back early on when they had the first promos for the show they featured Kevin Skinner in the promos. It seemed like the shows producers were favoring Kevin Skinner from the beginning and even though people were making fun of him because of the way he talked each time is pretty much a plug for him. Even grandma lee made a joke about him. Do you think they were favoring him from the start?

I am looking for a song that was played in the background, on the episode that aired Tuesday July 21st 2009. It was background music for the last act. A young man who sang and played the piano. He recieved 3 yes's. The song that was playing while they were intoducing this young man. Artist and song title. Can you help me find that info. Many thanks!

This was a terrible. AGT is going down hill fast. All of the acts put through tonight were not worth the air time the sponsors provided. I have been a dedicated fan but my reaction tonight was, "I don't think I will ever turn it on again.
