Carmen and John. I read on another message board that others in boston were told 3 days. But, on the audition website it says 1-4 weeks or something like that. In Chicago we were told "a couple weeks", and the website says 1-6 weeks. So, who knows???? Like John said, I wouldn't give up all hope until the audition website says all contestants have been contacted. Also, when my daughter sang, I noticed the woman running the camera was watching me alot. I found that interesting. But I do believe they actually film everyone.

carmen,
Doesn't sound right to me. You'd be the first that's said that quick. Everyone else has said anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 weeks. Of course, if they don't want you they might never call or if they are on the fence, I'm guessing it could be even longer. However, if they really love someone and want them to come back then maybe they would contact them right away so they could lock them into a contract.

So, basically we don't know. It's a fun game people call wait and see.

I'm guessing they do film everyone. Tape is rather cheap and they'd hate to miss something that they could use later. I'm sure they have a standard shot and so no need for him to really look after it's setup initially. Imagine being that cameraman. Talk about a boring job.

good luck to all.... it was a great time....my daughter did fantastic...also one thing she did notice was that the camera guy was not looking into the camera when she was auditioning....although he was focused on her, do they film every one????? thanks

Elaine,
Thanks for stopping by my site. Glad you love it and I hope you'll continue to come back. I of course should make clear that I'm not a representative of America's Got Talent, NBC or Fremantle Media, so anything I say is just my opinion and does not reflect their opinion (did that sound legal enough?).

I'd love to hear any experiences and thoughts you have on the audition process for all my readers to be able to learn.

I checked out some of the videos and Lexxi does have a ton of talent. The biggest challenge in America's Got Talent from what I've seen is that there are SOOO many singers. I think it will be challenge for any singer to really differentiate themselves from the pack. Take the opera singers from last year. How can the judges really decide between them. They all were so similar it's really tough to decide.

I think the idea of having a compelling story and talent is probably the best one. Outrageous also will probably get you on the show, but probably won't get you very far.

Best of luck and please let us know if you hear anything.

We went to Boston for Lexxi 11 years old to audition.
We went last year as well. I do have some insight to the process as well as talkin about our experiences.
She sings beautifully and is pretty hopeful. She sang at the Apollo this November. The bottom line is what are the judges looking for specifically this season. She founded a not for profit at only 8 years old she is an old soul. www.lexxiloves.org
Love this site john hope to hear from you!!!
you can see other videos on youtube under

Michael,
Don't do anything illegal and respect people's copyright. I just hate that these people who own the media don't understand the value of people sharing their product. That creates an amazing following and spreads their talent even more than the show itself.

The reason I suggested Universal is responsible, is because Universal possibly told FremantleMedia Group of the violations and asked them to act on it. Just a possible scenario.

Hello John, FremantleMedia Group Ltd. own the copyright to the BGT Show. They pulled all of Faryl's vids from You Tube last year, before Faryl had signed any contracts. A few were snuck back in by individuals and managed to stay there till this week. I suspect that it is the work of FMG again. But why they have never pulled all of the other show competitors vids is beyond me, because they own the copyright to those too. They can't pull the tour vids because they are all privately owned and also they don't own the copyright of the tour. I downloaded Faryl's show vids and I might just be a naughty boy and sneak a couple back on You tube.
On a lighter note I have got my copy of Faryl's debut album and it is absolutely stunning. When listening to The Way Old Friends Do, I must confess to feeling a little moist around the eye sockets.

Crazy people at Universal. That's what happens when a big name gets signed. At least Faryl fans still have some videos she's started posting on her site and I've posted here. Thanks for letting me know.

John, Faryl's videos from BGT 2008 don't seem to be available on YouTube any longer (you can still see her on the BGT tour), but other acts from BGT 2008 like Signature, Andrew Johnston, and Escala seem to still be viewable.
