One other comment is that the show often misses on some really great talent.

I just recently auditioned in Philadelphia. I was there from 8 am until about 6pm. They initially brought some people in to do some of those long group shots and little shots of people saying” Philadelphia Got Talent”. I was in with the singers. They separate people out who play guitars or whatever. By the time I finally had an opportunity to sing it was almost 3pm. I was alittle ticked off because our group of 10 people where the next to go in audiation but they kept bringing in groups that had arrived later then us but they let them go up ahead of us. The one guy told me they let groups go ahead. I was alittle pissed after waiting all day. Anyway they took all of us in and we did out thing. There were 2 girls in my group that had amazing voices but when we came out they just asked me to come back in and sing another song. Then they told me to go over to the other side to sing for the producers. This is where there were about 7 people and a video camera and I sang one song and then they aske dme to sing another. They then told me I would hear something by January. I felt good about the audition but surprised the other 2 women were not picked as well. Go figure. Anyway I am hoping I make it to the next round.

Hi Lisa,
Like you said, I only know what I read. Nothing more. I’m not sure if DC will go to NY or not. The auditions in NY were huge, so maybe they’ll send DC people somewhere else to balance the auditions. I don’t really know though. On the site it said, “The show will be taped in NYC on March 17, 18, and 19th at the Hammerstein Ballroom theater in New York City.” which means that you better hope you get a call soon if you’re planning on going to NY to audition.

I still haven’t seen a premiere date for the show, but last year’s America’s Got Talent didn’t start until June 24th. So, we have a while before we get to see the show I think.

Hi John,

Have you heard of whether any auditions from Washington DC tryouts have been notified yet? I would have thought that they would send anybody invited back to New York, but as of their 3/7 update, it says they will post when all acts (invited back) are contacted. We auditioned in DC and want to know if we should give up hoping. Especially since after the Miami auditions, I’m assuming the regular show will start at the end of April? What are your thoughts? I know this is a fan forum, but respect your opinion.

Another person asked me to post their audition experience anonymously. I figured it was in DC also, so I'll just post it here in the comments: My daughter and i did the AGT auditions in washington of friday morning. We arrived at 7:30 am and had our audition at 3:00pm after being taken to 2 different holding rooms. We were brought in to the producers with 4 other people.My daughter sang Carrie Underwoods All American Girl and did an excellent job!! After everyone sang there was 1 girl that was brought back into the room to sing again because we believe she was a nervous wreck and couldn't even remember the song she was singing. When she finally did sing it it was very short...I believe they wanted to see if she could really sing and also see if she could shake the nerves. Just my guess! the experience was very fun!! We learned alot. We expect to hear something within 2 weeks and if not......there's next year!!

My daughter also auditioned at the HARBOR IN Maryland for AGT. We arrived there at 6:00 am and we left at 12:00 noon. We took part in the Channel 4 News Production showing all of the people that came to audition. THe Harbor was beautiful and I want to Thank AGT for their smooth audition process. WE didnt have to wait all day in line with other folks. I really enjoyed the experience and we are hopeful that Tyeisha gets a call back!!! She sang a wonderful song and did very well.
