One of the great Pure America’s Got Talent readers, Michael Askew, pointed me to a great little video of Faryl Smith (of Britain’s Got Talent fame) introducing her debut album which will be released March 9th. In this video Faryl Smith talks about her musical journey. There are also scenes of her photoshoot for UCJ and of her recent Christmas concert at the Royal Albert Hall with Katherine Jenkins. The soundtrack for the video is of Faryl Smith singing some of the songs from her debut album. Check it out:

Thanks Michael. Faryl Smith seems like she’s living up to everything Simon thought she would be.

Hello John, I’ve posted a link below to a new video on Faryl’s website. it is part of a competition run by UCJ. It is called “Sing with Faryl” and aparently offers the winner a possible route into the music world. Faryl is Introducing the competition and giving tutorials on how she sings her songs with demonstrations and snippets from the TV video which promotes her debut album.
Her website is now much expanded and includes a gallery of stills and videos, a biography a news section and a forum. It is well worth another visit and once her album is released I would expect a lot of hits for it. I hope the link below works.

      Michael,
Thanks for pointing this out. You were faster than the studio itself. Only problem is that I’ve been so busy that I didn’t have time to post about it until now. I’ve scheduled for it to post in a couple days and can be found: http://www.pureamericasgottalent.com/2009/03/04/record-a-single-with-faryl-from-britains-got-talent/

Thanks again for keeping me updated on cool things like this happening with Faryl.

Check out another young singer called Andrew Johnston from Britain’s Got Talent. He is signed with Simon Cowell and has an album called ‘One Voice’. Andrew and Faryl sang a duet together during the BGT tour. This boy has an extaordinary beautiful voice and last year sang at Sir Andrew Lloyd Webbers birthday party and has also sang at the Royal Albert Hall. The album is stunningly beautiful. Andrew was also invited on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

As Daisyrose rightly points out, Andrew Johnston does have a beautiful voice. He was, and maybe still is, head chorister at Carlisle Cathedral. His duet with Faryl was one of the highlights of the touring show. The duet was “Walking in the Air” from the film “The Snowman” and they have recorded this duet on Andrew’s album.

Thanks daisyrose. Andrew Johnston is awesome. I’ll write a blog post about him soon.

Faryl will be in the USA at the end of April to present media showcases in New York and LA. Her debut album will be released in the USA on May 5th. Back in the UK she has a busy time ahead. She will sing with Katherine Jenkins in the beautiful York Minster, she makes two appearances at the Royal Albert Hall, she will sing a duet with Jose Carreras at Henry Viii old pad at Hampton Court and a further concert with Katherine Jenkins at Haywards Heath. If that is not enough she has been invited to perform at the special opening gala concert at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales. It was in this competition that she won first prize in the Under 15 solo class when she was just ten years old.

Thanks for the update Michael. Sounds like she’s a busy girl. Good to hear.

Please let us know when it’s released in the USA and we’ll do a post about her new album and hopefully get some people to buy it. She’s a really great talent.

      Hello John.
Watch out! Faryl’s about. Faryl arrives in the US on Saturday 25th April. She will be showcasing in NY and LA. On April 29th she will appear on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Her debut album “Faryl” will be released by Decca on May 5th. If you get the chance to see or hear any of her interviews, don’t miss them. She is so relaxed and chatty it is hard to believe that she really is only 13 years old.

      Michael,
Nice of her to come across the pond. If you see any videos online from her visit here, let me know so I can embed them on my site.
      Thanks!

Faryl is now on your side of the pond. She now has a US branch to her website. She will be making a number of appearances over there and she will be singing and signing copies of her album in NY. Check her site at the link below. I hope this works.
