I would much rather have seen Eli win. As John said,
I wouldn't buy a ticket to see Neal but I definitely would buy one to see Eli. I also felt that Eli's performances were consistently good. They made it out like Neal Boyd came from nowhere, yet if you do a web search, he had already sung at Carnegie Hall, Washington, D.C., Europe and numerous other places and according to one article is "the voice of Missouri". They made him out to be just some guy who had never gotten to live his dream. Yet he has been living it for a long time. This is just more money in his pocket and more exposure. I would rather have seen someone who really needed the help win.

Julie,
Thanks for pointing out my glaring error. I'm embarrassed that I didn't spell it right. Once or twice would have been reasonable, but I spelled it wrong once and it just propagated through all my posts. I've gone through and corrected the spelling of his name on all the posts. Thanks.

I agree that it wasn't just his emotions that won him the title. The guy has the instrument for opera. That's for sure. However, you can't say that his story/emotions weren't a part of the reason he won.

I look forward to seeing him perform in Las Vegas. Looks like I'm going to be going to the show.

First of all, I don't menat to be rude but could all of you PLEASE spell Neal's name right? Anyway, Neal is fantastic. He totally deserves this. The man you see on the show is really him. He is so real. Also, the crying, is just part of him. I have known him for years and he has always been a very emotional guy. I don't think he should have to feel like he needs to hide it. His life has been a very emotional one. It is hard to hide that. But, with that being said. I don't think it was just his emotions or story that won him the title. Neal is very talented. He is incredible. That is what he is!

Eli was the most talented by far. 2 talents, sing & piano, where everyone else just sang OR played strings. He was the only one so great he didn't need any kind of backup, and he took it like a man, not like Neal crying all the time. Yes, Eli is easy on the eyes too. (& I'm 53!!)

Mina,
Well said, that's exactly how I feel about it all. You described it very well.

What a huge disappointment! I would pay to see all four of the others, but not Neil. He was good, sure, but an entire headliner act. No way. I really thought it would be down to Nuttin but Stringz and Eli Mattson. And I would have been completely neutral which one won. They were both fantastic. I sincerely hope Mattson does a recording that I can buy! Boyd's album. I don't think so. . .

I have to disagree!! The only reason I started watching America's Got Talent was because of Neil. Maybe I'm a little older (38), and although I love all types of music, there was something about the strength of his voice that really drew me in. I am a fan of Eli, but I was rooting for Neil..and I actually would pay to see him just to see if he can give the same concert in person he did on those 2-4 minute spots

I think Donald Braswell was ROBBED! Neal sings about as well as a good, undergraduate voice major in a mediocre music program. I wish him well, but I can't believe that the show wasn't rigged -- Donald Braswell had a huge fan base. He was the real talent on the show.

I agree. I'm confident that Eli Mattson will land on his feet and we'll be able to see his performances somewhere.

Jessica Price I'm a little more concerned that she won't do much with the added exposure. It sounds all nice to have an agent and sign a record deal, but I'm not sure she has the heart and the grit to really do it all. I'm sad to say it, because I love Jessica. I really hope she proves me wrong.

An America's Got Talent tour would be great and I think do very well. The only bad part would be that they weren't able to announce it on the show. In my book, that means that it's less likely to happen. Again, I hope I'm wrong about this. I'll be happy to promote the tour for them!
