Good (and correct) singing requires some physical effort, so you shouldn't get caught up in whether singing looks effortless as a judge of anything. Singing is not like dancing where practice makes everything look seamless. The reason it looks effortless on Jessica is because she's singing from her throat and not putting any significant effort energy (or muscle) into her singing. Of course, to each their own, if you like this sort of sound, but she's really weak as far as good singers go. Kiss would never pick her as an opening act!
